the two countries have a basically similar history of rationale behind gun ownership, executed in slightly different ways (the actual American militias ceased to be a thing almost instantly). Swiss gun nerds are not all over them because Nazis are going to come swarming up their mountain any day now, at least not any more than their American counterparts are actually stockpiling for the zombie apocalypse that isn't a thinly veiled analogy for race war

The United States has a gun related death rate of 10.2 per 100,000 people. Well that's a pretty big divide. Now let's talk about suicide....
