Yeah. Still, Invisible War had the best endings I think, though, because there were more choices. Oh *~spoiler alert~*

Also the dark ages one is like full alt-right "get a rope." (Don't pick that one.) I liked the one where everything gets nuked and then the post-human survivors go to space. Best of both worlds IMO.

It's just about who gets paid for the work. Is it the rich fucks who do literally nothing and collect billions (soon to be trillions) or is it the workers who sweat toil and sometimes even die in the Middle East and then can't even afford mental healthcare for their PTSD after watching their buddies get blown up fighting in a foreign land for the profits of the US defense contractors.

It's just about optimal distribution of the results of our labor as a species collectively versus "ooh Steve Jobs is building the BIGGEST YACHT EVER LOL BUY SOME DIAMONDS."

Communism is when the government owns the means of production, like factories. Instead of a boss you've got a bureaucrat running things, you still have a wage and go to work and all that. There is no private ownership and the state owns everything, uses your labor to produce stuff, and keeps the profits from what it sells. Then they use that money to do cool stuff like give their citizens free healthcare, giant train networks and going to the moon, but all this is basically just state capitalism. Having one party in power though is a corrupt as you think and eventually the whole thing falls apart.

European socialism is better but is still capitalist, look at the poo poo going down in the EU, Marcon in France just cut taxes on the wealthy by 70%, lol jesus.

Current socialist reforms is for businesses to change to worker co-ops, so the workers own the means of their production and decide democratically what to do with the profits.

"amazon killing retail is just disruption at work. and look at all the smartphones. socialism didn't invent that!"

https://twitter.com/jessefelder/status/920662486172434438

quote:

Since 1996, 40% of the U.S. population has seen their inflation-adjusted incomes decline. An additional 20% have stayed roughly flat. Meanwhile, the cost of college tuition, childcare, and healthcare went up 200%, 125%, and 120%, respectively. The proliferation of smartphones has no doubt exacerbated the problem. According to a Motley Fool estimate, roughly $340 billion of U.S. consumer spending has been diverted to cell phones and their service providers over the past decade. This leaves far-less disposable income for things like clothes, shoes, and electronics.

In turn, struggling middle-class consumers have shifted away from mid-tier retailers and towards discount retailers, from cheap, “fast-fashion” brands like Zara and H&M to Dollar General and Dollar Tree, by far the fastest-expanding retailers in the nation. Regardless of dollar-store expansion, many suburban areas likely no longer possess the spending power to support the retail footprint that once existed in their communities. The retail apocalypse threatens a chain-reaction of suburban deterioration.

[...]

Rubbing salt in the middle-class wound, retail for wealthy consumers is rapidly transforming for the better. To insulate against e-commerce, high-end retailers are focusing on upgrading the shopping “experience”. Nordstrom is experimenting with concept stores equipped with spas, personal stylists, and beer, wine, and juice bars. Starbucks is opening large “roastery” stores, which offer consumers “an interactive environment where they’ll be introduced to handcrafted, small-batch coffees.” As Tracey Deutsch, a professor of history at the University of Minnesota, recently told The Atlantic: “What’s striking to me is that now these retailers are trying to associate certain experiences — learning, conversation, personal attention — with high-end consumer goods and services. It used to be the norm for all consumers to have access to these things.”

There are decidedly not a "bunch of terrorists there". It's capitalism's fault because resource accumulation is behind almost every supposed religious or ideological war. Saudi Arabia is responsible for the genocide - the US sells them the arms to do it and would stay out of the way regardless, same for European powers and Israel that will just let it happen because of oil. If I'm not mistaken the US is set to become (or already is) involved militarily but that was one sentence I read in an article not about the conflict and I can't be arsed to look it up on my phone right now.
