Please help me find a certain mod. It changes the GTS to give you a randomized selection of three class options when training rookies. I've only seen it on tube videos and can't track it down. Anyone know?

Its called 'Choose my class' https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1467643380&searchtext=commander%27s+choice Except it isn't the GTS, its on normal promotion. Its a slightly slimmer version of 'Commander's Choice' which lets you choose any class when someone promotes.

Hey, thanks! I am considering doing LW2 with the Shadow Ops classes added on top and this'd make it more of a fun experience for me, haha.

So I just beat XCOM 2 WOTC on commandeer with a ton of mods installed. I subscribed to Christoper Odd's list here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1328549637 The last mission was loving insane. A squad of venator clones with low HP chain teleported into my ranger's bladestorm, blowing themselves up (3 venators did this in a single turn) - fortunately I had a specialist maxed out on healing so we survived that. Reapers and skirmishers with expanded magazines are very useful, especially with AP or acid ammo to ignore/shred armor. I also faced 2 riftkeepers mk2, a gatekeeper and a sectopod at the same time. I mind controlled the gatekeeper with my avatar, barely managed to haywire/take over the sectopod with my specialist and that was barely enough to take out the riftkeepers and their constant summons. They summoned everything from celatids to biozerkers. The last room was ramped up due to the late game enemies mod, so strong pods were popping in every turn. I was able to pop every avatar in quick order, but when I killed the last one, there were at least 15 active enemies on the map.

Nothing better than a retaliation mission when the resistance constantly shoots a codex for 4 damage until there are like 4 loving codexes running around. Stop it you assholes

Burned the Archon King down to like five health and had a templar and a blade master, both with bladestorm, standing next to him to catch him when he moved for his portal, but he just sort of glitched out and didn't actually move, he simply disappeared and left the map. Was hoping to finally get that "Not Throwing Away my Shot" achievement which I somehow still don't have.

Odd's legendary run of this included him modding in an additional team member after mission 2. Which is tougher - commander modded (Odd's ABA+enemies+mission types) or legendary vanilla?

Yeah I'd say so. I laboriously chose my own mods recently, but was surprised to see his list is quite close to my own. Other notable mentions for me are Allies Unknown, Raider Factions, Future AI (alternative to ABA). There are now also more enemies you can add like mega-archons, salarian engineers, turian strikers, sangheli spec ops, synthoids, berserker omega, and two more pathfinder enemies. Most of this stuff has been made by RealityMachina who should be hired immediately by Firaxis is they haven't already done so. There's RPG Overhaul too, but that's a bold change and I found myself going back to a class-based system. I only recently got back into XCOM coz of the hype around Phantom Doctrine, which just made me wanna play XCOM again.

Got a quick question for people out there. I have a clutch turn saved on an ironman game cause I'm not really sure how this will work. But will Combat Protocol deal double damage to Codexes? I seem to remember they took bonus damage from EMP rounds but the damage preview window is still just saying "2" damage.

Hey guys, I hate plasma weapons, but I like their power. Is there a mod like the old xskins system where you can just change the model/effects of one gun to another at will? All the mods I can find are unsupported and don't work on the newest version

Not at PC right now but search for something like three tier cosmetics I think it's called? Also, apparently xskin does still work in wotc.

Welp, the Mec mod worked just fine and I finished with 2 mecs, though I could have built more. That was fun!

Here is what the Mec's looked like at the end. One of the funnest things to do was to park them next to an enemy at the end of my turn and then have them process a punch (which averaged around 15-18 damage) and kill the enemy when the enemy moved. They also get In The Zone as a default pick? I did miss the explosive options that Mec's had in Enemy Within (they don't have a grenade launcher) but overall they were fun. Haha, actually they were unstoppable. Both of them had like 6 armor and a billion health, plus they had a ton of options to resist damage and repair themselves. AND!!!!!!!!! They were loving marksman. They did brutal damage with their guns and their punchy fists. Overall they weren't fair but they were fun as hell! Edit: Yeah, I dumped a ton of those XCOM Action points on them too before the mission so they were basically unstoppable. Pohl fucked around with this message at 02:31 on Sep 4, 2018 |

One of the MEC abilities does a 100 or so damage on a melee strike, single-use, reduces your melee damage for the rest of the mission. I used it to dunk on the final Avatar in my Commander playthrough.

I don't even know what a new DLC would even consist of at this point. I'm not sure just adding more complexity would make it better at this point.

If this is real, which is far from guaranteed, I am hoping for a standalone mini-campaign. Like Attila Total War or something like that. You might get the choice to import a victorious savegame, or just start with a preset.
