Are these kids banned from reading books by other philosophers? Have they even read any of the philosophy they want taught? Why don't they go out and write papers and blow their teachers minds with their explorations of alternative philosophers? I think since this is a British university though I generally agree with the sentiment of if the professors say X then X is prolly what should be happening and it looks like the faculty is reacting negatively to their requests so that's that. If it was the USA there might be an argument to be made that if you are spending tens of thousands in exchange for a product then alright you have some grounds to complain about stuff you don't like.
