The bike mods seemed like the type of thing someone unfamiliar with a motorcycle would think up, too. Oh boy, I can upgrade to a 530 chain! On a video game motorcycle!  Bike 2 is looking good, though. I'll check out the reviews and maybe pick it up.

I can't even  begin to describe how much bare ankles on a bike squicks me out. It's like, here, let me just lay my most fragile joint on an anvil and hold it over a belt sander. Let's hope I don't get tired!  Also what the hell do you do to an H2 to get halfway to melting its pipes? Just bounce it off redline constantly without going fast enough for air movement to cool it down?

I like how a guy does a burnout on the most powerful bike, by far, on the market, and thinks it's impressive. Gee, you got the rear wheel to easily break traction on a 310hp 530 lb motorcycle. Cycle Asylum book review: https://www.amazon.com/Soft-Science...nce+road+racing This book sucks. I think it might have good information in it about riding bikes around asphalt courses, but I can't tell because half of all the text is discussing the difference between planning and execution and missing pieces in your plan and the difference between thoughts and motion and how to translate motion into thoughts and thoughts into motion and then how to do it with a plan. It's written by an annoying idiot, in other words, and I have no idea how Keith came up with such useful advice in Twist of the Wrist or how he runs such a famous track day school. He seems to think he's addressing 6 year old philosophy students all the time so most of his discussion is abstract to the point of nonsense and so basic as to be boring and redundant to anyone who speaks English and rode a bicycle once.

I'm cautiously excited about the new Ride video game and I think that the V-Twin Tuono Factory* is one of the coolest looking bikes ever. There was one for sale in Chicago for 6500 and if it had been available when I was shopping for bikes I would have bought it in a second, and as a result would probably be driving the Focus to work while I wait for parts. * I remembered after stalking through CL for Tuonos again that the picture above isn't of a Tuono Factory but I still like that look. captainOrbital fucked around with this message at 22:08 on Sep 30, 2016 |
