And that camera must be bad rear end to take a flaming goop I love how a worker is sticking a long piece of metal in through the bottom door all the way up to about 30 seconds before event inception. Hope he got well away from the area pretty quickly. I started the first clip at 2:20 and the second at 2:50. Both run 30 seconds.

The comments mention a water panel fell in, a quick GIS suggests these are sections of water cooling jacket for the walls/lid of the furnace. GotLag posted:The comments mention a water panel fell in, a quick GIS suggests these are sections of water cooling jacket for the walls/lid of the furnace. Is that right? Pretty much. I haven't done a foundry system in a very long time but they were standard CCTV cameras, either analog or IP, in a specialized housing. Basically it's two stainless steel cylinders with a liquid cooling system. And a couple of different types of glass for the clear part. I haven't priced them in almost a decade but they ran between $10k to $20k depending on a couple of factors. Ironically the cameras used were lower end and depending on the project between $200 to $400. You'd see some thermal cameras used for looking at temperatures for casting. Those tended to be less on the low end. Most of the OSHA issues I see aren't super interesting. Usually dumb rear end techs taking short cuts with ladders and lifts. Mostly I see life safety and fire code issues. I did have a contractor decide to drill through a firewall and ignore the part of the scope of work that said you had to use the proper fire stop conduits. I even had consulted with the fire marshal to find out exactly which ones he'd want for the project. Made it as easy as possible for the guy. But he felt you didn't actually need them because how often does a school catch fire? Yeah. That lead to the School Superintendent and the Fire Marshal having a tag team discussion. I will say, watching people get chewed out by fire marshals is a joy. Because it's an rear end reaming they earned. Most of the ones I've worked with cared way more about poo poo like that getting fixed, and save the yelling for the deliberate stupidity.

Got to around midnight of the El Faro transcript. 3M ahhh (it's like) nawww I– I– I mean it's just this thing– whether it's be uh– the– the winches orrr (#) whatever it is that's # up– I'm like "what nobody else notices this #?" AB-3 no. 3M nobody else knows anything and then I'm always– you know– the bearer of bad tidings– you know. AB-3 yeah. oh yeah. "there's that troublemaker again." 3M yeah. I'm like… AB-3 that's how I've learned to keep my mouth shut at those safety meetings– man. they don't wanna hear anything you got to say so don't say anything. 3M well certainly at a safety meeting cause you gotta call 'em out in front of everybody... AB-3 yeah. 3M ...sometimes that's the only way to get any action on things. really. If– if– if you brought something up– and it doesn't and it doesn't.... AB-3 throw 'em under the bus. 3M you know– well the first– with things like that– it's a rusty rail or a step or * (say "hey bos' [boatswain])– hey what about that?" mention that to the mate *. if nothing happens after a week or two and you really feel like it's a serious issue (maybe you can) talk to the chief mate– you know– "hey man." you know you get 'em one on one. "I've already raised this issue–" but you know– "what's up with this?" and then if still nothing gets done– you bring it up at the safety meeting then it goes in the minutes and then it gets done. like magic.– yeah so I– I. – I mean– you know and in that case– you know– that's always the decision everyone's gotta make for themselves– you know– whether or not they want to– you know how– how strongly do you feel that this is a– a leg- legitimate # issue here and somebody's really gunna get hurt– then bring it up. I don't give a # if I... AB-3 ahh # one time we were– you know this was like– * "hey how many of us know which vents to close if we have to dump that C-O-two on a car carrier?" we don't even know. they're not and they started all this #– and then they're not even labeled you know. we don't know which ones to close you know. we'll just close all of 'em and it's like "okay" and then all the sudden– hey start thinkin' about it it's like– "ohh you know what maybe we should..." and we went out there and test 'em and they were rusted # solid man it was like "well– well– well" you know. [AB-3 continued to speak about an experience on another ship which was not pertinent.] ...10 minutes later 3M guess I'm just turnin' into a chicken little but– I have a feeling like something bad is gunna happen. 3M maybe nothing will happen. maybe it'll just be all nice. ...25 minutes later 3M-ET hey captain sorry to wake ya. 3M-ET naw– nothin' and uh the latest weather just came in.– and umm– thought you might wanna take a look at it. 3M-ET so– (yeah) if you have a chance. 3M-ET just lookin' at the forecast and lookin' at our trackline. which way it's goin' and uhhh– thought you might wanna take a look at it. ...10 minutes later 3M I trust what he's saying– it's just being twenty miles away from hundred knot winds– this doesn't even sound right. AB-3 no. AB-3 (no matter) which way it's hittin' ya.– still hundred knot winds. ... AB-3 "th th th th th these are ba ba ba ba ba ba big waaaves." [spoken as Elmer Fudd]. Jesus– it's a hurricane.

I'm reading a thing that the sun sentinel just put out "unprepared and overwhelmed" about the parkland timeline first thing that jumped out at me was a little quote: 58 minutes of chaos. 58 minutes was the name of the book that was later adapted to be die hard 2... so thats kind of a hosed up little easter egg there http://projects.sun-sentinel.com/2018/sfl-parkland-school-shooting-critical-moments/ but through looking at the timeline, i see a bunch of flordia rear end poo poo, about boomers. sheriffis that are supposed to be calling in code reds or rushing towards the sounds of gunshots, and instead just stay at their cars. flordia is one of the most gun right voting states in the union, and of course the old voters that keep protecting guns rights dont risk their rear end to run in and save the ones who cant vote from the consequences of the old rear end boomer electorate Time since gunman's arrival: 6m:13s posted:Since Columbine, officers are taught to rush toward gunshots and neutralize the killer.
