I don't get it. Those don't seem like Jeanne killed them for being from the forest. Jeanne just kills anything that crosses the water or steps on her side, and why she would keep doing that now is up in the air. None of them are buddies with the green forest people. Annie is buddies with green forest people. Annie just presumably helped out Jeanne's favorite green forest person; I think she has a foot in the door here.

Can't wait for this to be another fake-out. "Boy, Smitty, sure is lucky that that sword slid between your side and arm, completely missing you!"

It feels deliberately obscured in a way to make that ambiguous, the perspective is off - the blade looks too small. But maybe that in itself is a fake-out to make you think it totally missed him, when in fact it did very much go through his chest.

It's a main gauche which is a small offhand weapon like a dagger to be used in conjunction with a rapier.

Yeah, I know. But if you compare it to when she first pulled it out versus the last panel, the size looks smaller, implying it's further away in perspective (and in turn implying it missed him).

But that could just be an art gaffe/me nitpicking. We won't know until Monday.

It's odd that it's so straight and small, they were mostly designed to catch weapons at their base and usually had ridges/catch blades near the hilt. They weren't usually used to attack directly, instead to tie up an opponent's weapon. Like any pointy piece of metal they'll mess you up, but they were generally unsharpened for most of their length.

Jeanne shanked him with so much power that the hilt of her blade bent. (I don't know how thick those are, so maybe that's supposed to happen.)

Also they need a new court medium. Zimmy will do fine.

Eh, there are a great many varieties of main gauche. Like many swords and daggers, they evolved over time to become more specialised towards their intended function. Some have a side-ring, some have curved quillons, some have knuckle-guards, some have the ridges you mentioned. But especially the earlier ones could just as well be pretty much just regular daggers with a reinforced crossguard.

Its a close up of Parley noticing it and then the next panel is stylized to show how quickly/forcefully Jeanne is stabbing with it.

C'mon, guys.

It will miss all his important organs.

Or he'll be dead before he hits the ground and Parley will grind Jeanne into the dirt, stealing her murderghost powers and becoming the new murderghost. The arrow will not be denied. Then Antimony will have detention.
