Many parking garages around here have "CHEVY BOLTS ARE BANNED FROM THIS FACILITY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. NO EXCEPTIONS" posted at every entrance and exit.

I'm really sorry, your avatar is giving me a boner and while that is perfectly OK and I don't want to kink shame anyone, its making me feel really weird getting a boner in a Trump thread.

The conclusion of that tester is no big surprise; it's heavy and bulky, so you get to spend more for a pack that's not light enough to ultralight nor able to carry real loads. I'd also seriously side-eye its durability, personally.

Only sorta related, but I was out of the country for a year at one point, in a very poor country. Their water treatment was almost nil. Enough that you could brush your teeth with it, but you wouldn't want to drink it unless you were a local and used to it. My body got used to that untreated water with few chemicals in it, and when I finally got home and had a shower in our chlorinated water.... yikes. Full body rash for about two weeks until my body acclimated again.

It seems like it might be useful for a very specific use case of running or jogging with a moderate amount of gear.

With light loads, the suspension is a significant fraction of the total weight, and you’re better off just bearing it the old fashioned way.

With heavy loads, body movements are much less exaggerated and I’m skeptical that the suspension is doing a lot for you at that point.

Never seen a fire blanket in a kitchen and certainly don't have one either. I'm in Finland.

edit:
I have a foam extuingisher though, because loving hell if I am gonna use an ABC in my house.... And the foam one is rated ABF which means it works on grease fires.

Since you change your cadence and up/down amplitude all the time while walking on the trail, I bet you get some weird and annoying resonance effects.

Question for the US friends ITT: How common are fire blankets in household kitchens? What about in workplace kitchens?

I asked a US firefighting forum what fire safety measures they have in their own homes and workplaces and they were mostly like "lol fire blankets? Never see them/who needs em" kind of attitude.
