As far as Teodor is bi, goes, there's Honest Man Comix, wherein his radio station is automatically liked by Rod and Chucklebot, and the sideburns generator, both of which indicate that technology knows Teodor likes dudes. Last week, at a party, someone mentioned to Chris that they wish there was more Achewood content to read, because they love his comic so much. Witnesses recount Onstad muttered "fat nerd sociopaths..." then locked himself in the bathroom. He hasn't been out since; his wife is enabling him, leaving plates of Osso Buco and whatnot by the door to help him keep his strength up, so it could be awhile. No one knows when he'll be out, exactly, but the general consensus is it'll be once he runs out of magazines articles to read. mysterious frankie fucked around with this message at 18:47 on Jan 18, 2012 |

New blog entry, new interview with Vice. This may be because I have some minor untreated mental illness, but somehow I feel like bitching about him in a good-natured manner was a magic spell that summoned new content. Anyways, the blog is a lot of fun and he seems a lot more carefree in the Vice interview, which was nice to see. Makes me less afraid he could flake out if one too many assholes write him love letters in the only fashion their kind know. Maybe the Comics Alliance interviewer breathed too much through their mouth and had an oversized Neon Genesis Evangelion T-shirt tucked into cargo shorts, or something similar, and it was just too much for Chris to process. EDIT: http://orezscu.blogspot.com/2012/01/christmas-party-pt-1.html http://www.vice.com/read/achewood-is-back-2 I couldn't find a special comic book siren. Five bucks says this rear end grabbing lady has an absolutely miserable personality, but he starts a relationship anyways. Teodor, if I can compare him to similar people I've known in my life, is the sort of guy who is supposed to end up marrying, then eventually divorcing, a legitimately crazy woman. He's the guy who was a lot of fun to hang out with, but now he's with Darcy and the last time me and the rest of the guys were over she threw a chair against the wall so hard it fell apart when I said I didn't like the New Bomb Turks. Dude just sat there looking miserable and sort of mouthed "I'm sorry" before she demanded to talk to him in the utility room while we let ourselves out.

Like Teodor, all I knew about Frank Lloyd Wright was that he was an rear end in a top hat, but it was alright, because he made houses that people got F’s about in college. Poetry. Fantasizing about getting a woman because she noticed he considered but decided not to use limes in a drink is pretty much quintessential Teodor.

I'm trying to figure out what the 'emotional center' in xkcd is and short of the author forgetting he's doing something for math nerds and instead crying about a girl that dumped him years ago sometimes ends up being a comic, I got nothing. You could always hand him the Great Outdoor Fight book and make him read it, cover to cover.

I would not start him on anything earlier than the Party. He can go back and read those strips once he's hooked. It's a hard thing getting someone to read something because there's an ambiguous amount of time required to do so, unlike, say a movie or tv show that has a defined runtime. I mean, I've been trying to get a friend to read Gunnerkrigg for 3 months now.

Two of my friends don't like Achewood because: "The art sucks!" "The art is fine but the language is too awkward to read" Farmer Crack-rear end posted:XKCD's emotional center has and always will be "smug rear end in a top hat" I got weird vibes from the way he puts women in his comic too. It's really subtle, but as I recall it was sort of an akward Joss Whedon "here are some empowered girls, but they just happen behave exactly the way I'd want them to" thing. Maybe he got better about that, but I'm not going to read more XKCD to find out.
