Swap Kroot for Pathfinders and you're probably right.

Yep probably, seems like a strange design choice to not include more of the range and options but maybe that stuff will come with future expansions.

It's almost like GW realizes that 30 unit options each across 20 armies don't balance well individually in their current form.

Weird.

Not my fault my army has 40ish elite choices with only 4 troops.

With how customizable Plague Marines are, maybe just them and cultists. Poxwalkers don't really scream covert ops and terminators don't seem to be a thing thus far.

I think there was an option for Terminators in Shadow War so that's what made me think of it. Regular marines don't have that option though so you might be right.

In the three ways to play article, they suggest a narrative match of a Kill Team against 'endless waves of Poxwalkers' so I'm assuming they're going to be in the Death Guard arsenal.

Terminators were a specialist option alongside normal veterans and deathwatch veterans. You had to spend a promethium cache to use them and the terminators also gave one up to your opponent if they died. The squad itself was all scouts.

They have said explicitly that what was picked and not picked was mostly a matter of game balance. The Shadespire guys make a tight game so i trust they know what they are doing.

In non-KT news, I bought an Alpha Table. It’s fairly shiny on the outside but feels pretty solid.

Even though I enjoyed my MDF-picture table overlay, more often than not the dining room table would end up holding the overlay for days due to either laziness or the necessity of it being a two-person lift.

With the PortaTable all my ham stuff will stay in the ham room /office.

Good point, I guess they will be in. Though I stand by the statement that shambling zombies seem unsuited for guerilla-style covert ops.

Synapse. It would be really weird to have a bunch of gaunts being effective without it. Plus Ogryns are more comparable to Hive Guard than Warriors.

To be fair I was more making a joke about GW not caring about Kroot.

I wonder if Breachers will be a separate option, or if Pulse Blasters will be a separate weapon for Fire Warriors, or if they'll just ignore it entirely.

This is an excellent opportunity for me to figure out what to do with the rest of my spare Pathfinders, though. Time to figure out how many Rail Rifles it's legal to take in Kill Team. :v:

Do we have a release date for Killteam other than July 21st for preorders?

And...Is anyone else excited about doing RPG-esq campaigns for Narrative play? Like I also want the chance to RP as my killteam as well as play with them against the enemies of the Imperium.

Pre-orders are always a week before the release, so I can only assume 28th.

It's not that bad. If you have questions, just ask. Protip, don't put any of the armor plating on it until you've painted everything.

I just spilled my brand new Tamiya Extra Thin plastic cement all over my work surface. Luckily, the only things that got wet were some metal tools and the plastic top of my Citadel project box, which I was using as a work surface. I’ve since hosed everything down with warm water and am now ventilating the room. That was easily half the bottle. loving gently caress.

On the upside, the upturned plastic top from the project box did make for a nice containment zone. The segmented surface easily contained all the glue, stopping it from reaching the vulnerable plastic miniatures I was assembling.

Apparently they're trying to work out why it would cost $175 to ship to Canada and hope to succeed. Fingers crossed.

I wonder if there will be a KT mission in the original style from back in 3rd/4th ed where you had a KT against a larger number of mooks. I've never played it myself but it does sound like a good alternative to operators operating against each other.

If you're not sure, you should wait until Kill Team is out in two and a half weeks. If anyone here has played it, they're being good and not saying what it's like.
