Who would be able to successfully run for the highest office at 35 when primary contestants could weed you out on the basis of youth and lack of experience?

It's got to be tough to drum up new bar business on weekday mornings.

If you ever want to be depressed, go to a divey bar open on a weekday morning, it's the loneliest group of unemployed definitely-alcoholics and night-shift probably-alcoholics you'll find.

When I used to live in Indianapolis, I used to do my "morning shift" with a bunch of aging queens at a great gay bar next to my apartment. Two eggs, two pieces of toast and two rashers of bacon for $1.99 with a cup of coffee. Drinks were an even $4 and oh so nice.

They were mostly retired and mostly ex-cons who went prison gay and then discovered that they actually preferred it. Forced sassiness, vodka sodas for their figure and everything else you'd expect from a late-in-life baby gay. Lots of comments about "the blacks" too. I'm fairly sure that the still living members from that time (and many of their replacements) voted Trump.

It was certainly a cultural experience. Though I wouldn't really call it depressing. Then again, maybe I've spent too many weekdays in dive bars so to me it just reads as "normal".

Run as a Republican.

Good evening dadchat. I spent my day wishing I was anywhere but work. It was sunny and 17 outside and I could have been out doing things. Nature-y things!

I still dont understand all the convoluted hoops the presidency requires. Some of them havnt changed since like 1800 and make no sense in this day an age.

What? The only real requirements are "be born a citizen" (with the exception of those resident in the Colonies before independence, and former slaves who were not born citizens but gained citizenship en masse with an amendment, both of which are irrelevant today) ", "be at least 35 on election day", and "you can't have served more than 6 years as president before".

There's a separate requirement of residency in the country for the prior like 10 years, but that's the case for a lot of other positions.

You need meet absolutely no other qualifications.

Nah there quite often isn't, due to the two major parties being so dominant in political life and rarely needing to form any coalition government with a minor party. In those systems the parties beyond the big 2 function similarly to the out there factions in the democrats and republicans
