Is that place de bourg de four in Geneva? Hah, I lived in one of the buildings just off shot. I really like what you've done there, and the colors look fine to me.

You knocked it out of the park dude. I also spent some time looking through your flickr. I think you're a hell of a photographer.

Exactly. I spent the late afternoon in the cathedral and took the photo as I was walking down the hill back to the waterfront.

I personally feel this is a bit far but I guess it is kind of a personal thing.

I think the sky is where it should be, everything below it seems too far processed. Try a two layer mask and see how it comes out

I'm brand new to photography in general but have been getting out and practicing as much as I can.

This past weekend I got a chance to take some landscape shots, I don't have any specific stuff for landscape shooting like an ND filter or anything but found that I was able to get a very similar result in lightroom (I think?). Is there still a role for a (physical) gradiated ND filter when shooting landscape photography with a DSLR or can you get better control over that stuff in post? If you're shooting RAW I can't see why you'd be too concerned about the overall exposure as it would be changed by using a gradiated ND filter.

Here's one of the shots I took, would love any feedback that might help me improve:

The perspective is really messing with me on the last one, I swear LR's ruler says the bridge is straight, but the trees being the way they are makes me think it isn't every time I see it and :argh:

edit: oops my dog is not a landscape.

There absolutely is, due to a constraint called dynamic range. A blown out sky is still blown even if you're shooting RAW.

It is very easy to recreate this with 2 exposures assuming you have a good tripod. The times that you may need one is if it is a fast moving scene or you are not using a tripod. Out side of that I just use multiple exposures as you get more control this way even if it is less traditional.
