Apparently the prognosis is pretty good for him, especially as they seem to have caught it fairly early so it's very unlikely to be life threatening.

Probably a good thing him being a professional sportsman, having his body monitored all the time helps pick up abnormalities early. loving awful news.

The club is already saying he will return to football in the short term so the prognosis must be really positive for that type of talk this early.

My heart goes out to Jesse. A mate of mine had testicular cancer, and had to have one of his balls removed. He, (my mate), recovered fully, and even fathered a child post surgery, so there is a good chance that Jesse Hogan will be OK. But cancer sucks, and it is not a thing to be taken lightly.

Sounds like they caught it pretty early and it hasn't spread yet. Hopefully he'll recover because christ he's had a rough run at it lately.

Hogan should be fine, if he doesn't have to go under chemo he'll get to play this year. Sam Rowe (incidentally who Hogan punched a few weeks back and missed a game for) had to miss a full year due to chemo and has made a full recovery. Has already phoned Hogan and talked to offer support.hiddenmovement posted:Good to see Nick Stevens back at carlton hiddenmovement posted:https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1742328549127202&substory_index=0&id=518970694796333 Also, Darcy Vescio continues to be the best footballer off the football oval: https://www.instagram.com/p/BUIwX4dDooU/

Hopefully this means Melbourne are more likely to get Tayla Harris (indirectly, I guess, seeing as they can't trade draft picks to Brisbane anyway)

The key with testicular cancer is finding it early. I'm sure in his case they did, which is a positive thing. He could definitely come back 100%.

Basically you might have to get a player to move up to Queensland for her

(Unless they've gone a national draft for year 2? I haven't paid enough attention post season)

I had some guy @ me on my ratings account wondering why I had Collingwood as a better chance to make the finals than Hawthorn (though neither will). He had some dumb theory about Collingwood not being as good in the wet even though the Hawks are basically shot for the year. I mean, we could win this weekend, but it'd only be some fluke where the Pies just decide to bottle it. Which is possible...

Solemn Sloth posted:It's going to be player movements regardless, because Brisbane aren't in the same draft as the Vic clubs. (Unless they've gone a national draft for year 2? I haven't paid enough attention post season) Yeah this. Brisbane won't care about draft picks at all. Their 4th round pick is worth as much as their 1st round pick really. In-fact they're better off to trade their first few picks to Victorian clubs who would want them. Harris will come to Victoria if she wants to, Brisbane cannot stop her from leaving. She is uncontracted (like all AFLW players are currently until they are re-signed this and next week) and can go freely essentially, although Brisbane will want to get something out of it, but then that requires a Victorian club with a player who wants to go to Queensland because a club cannot force a player interstate. It'll come down to three things: Which clubs will have the cash in their $40,000 ambassadors fund to spare ($10,000 per player is the maximum), who has the best facilities as Harris wants to be a boxer as well and training will be a big thing for her (Carlton by all reports) and who can offer her employment at the club year round. Also where does she want to go, she gets a say in it too. Until multiyear contracts are allowed and the draft becomes a national draft with a cost of living allowance introduced for players who would be moving to another city the decision is upto the players who in a way have more control than the clubs, such as Nicola Stevens who wanted to move and no doubt the deal was being worked out a couple of weeks ago given it went through at 11am on the second day of trades. Edit: And if she walks from the Lions and there is no trade, the AFL will compensate the lions for that, in whatever way the compensation is. drunkill fucked around with this message at 12:07 on May 16, 2017 |

It's ok once you get the hang of the infuriating marking mechanic. Lots of bugs that should be fixed up in updates (like the computer kicking Josh Bruce points from the goal square multiple times per game) Richo's commentary is dire
