Sometimes, there's a man, well, he's the man for his time and place. He fits right in there. And that's Jimmy T.
I'll admit I have laughed at some of these 21 Savage memes/jokes, but one thing that is really bothering me is it seems like no one is acknowledging/talking about that he would have come over to the U.S. when he was about 13 years old. Hardly an age where he had much choice. I feel really bad for the guy, and gently caress ICE.

I've got the same question that others have in "how did they not pick up on this when he got locked up in the past?". This just comes out of left field.

Well he's never toured outside the US, which makes sense now. Got to suck to be forced to move to a county that you really haven't been to. What do you even do in that situation?

Maybe its why he was always so mute in all the videos. Never really talking much if I remember correctly.

Blue passport, though...

Seriously though, is it confirmed that he came to the US from England? When I first saw this last night, some articles were saying it was Dominica, which gained independence from Britain in the 70s, but is in the commonwealth. I've also read that that's where one/both of his parents were from.

The Mail have published his supposed birth cert stating that he was born in London, but that's not to say he grew up there or that it's legit, as the Mail is trash.

eh I went to high school with two brothers a year apart who moved to the US from the UK and the older one kept his accent pretty thick the whole time whereas the younger one never sounded British at all. It happens.

Well this was pretty dope. I was having a jam/recording session with a good friend of mine and I started talking about hip-hop I have been listening to lately. I mentioned going back and listening to a lot of Del, Hiero, and Souls of Mischief lately. As soon as I mentioned Hiero and Souls, he stopped me and said "hang on one sec". He pulls out his phone and makes a call while putting it on speaker phone. A woman picks up and he goes "Hey ***, just wanted to give you a call. I'm recording with my good friend and he was talking to me about Souls of Mischief and Hieroglyphics. Isn't your brother in those groups?"

She responds, "He sure is." Turns out her brother is A-Plus from Souls of Mischief and she invited us to Hiero Day next year. I got to play her an original beat I recently made and we are trying to schedule a recording session. Needless to say, this made my week.

That's awesome dude! I'm not familiar with Heiro (although at a brief glance, Del's in it? I need to check them out!), but that sounds like an amazing opportunity, especially if they're one of your personal faves.

Nah, I know several people who moved to the US from in their childhood/teens. In my experience the ones who came when they were 13 or younger lost their accents completely, the ones who came later kept them. Just my anecdotal experience but it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't sound British if he came here when he was 12 or 13.

Yeah I as soon as I heard the story I assumed at least one of his parents had UK citizenship or residency through being born on a Commonwealth island in the Caribbean. Are Americans going to be blown away finding out that Jamaica and a bunch of other Caribbean islands play cricket, have teatime and are still ruled by the Queen?

im going to say that this fit is iconic, very trendy in silhouette (possibly even a nod towards demna gvasalia's work at balenciaga around that time) and personally inspired me to start wearing ties again.
