Broke: Tanks still have a variety of battlefield uses and whatever changes have happened in the last several years have modified the tactics involved but have not created tools that allow high-tech armies to operate without tanks at some level

Woke: it doesn't have a turret its not a tank

Gun Saliva
What would the use case for it even be

You can't carry people on it, right? Are you replacing the driver with the drone? They'll be puking anyway.
Hauling materials for some reason? Pulling out casualties and breaking their spines?
Very small gun?

Can't you blind it by loving up the scanners, or if you can deduce the scanner frequency flood the area with a flashing spotlight or some poo poo. Does it work in rain? Would mist gently caress up the scans? Wind blown dust? Smoke?

Can you trick it into running over the wrong troops? Crashing or flipping over? Shutting off? Driving into a lake?

If it can be disabled it can be recovered by the enemy later, and unless they expect to use this only in mega superiority arenas or whatever where they're just kicking people while they're down it seems like it's a liability (money funnel)

This is something you give cops to run over tents, not fight wars, right? Are those sight holes for troops or are they sensor pod things?

The more obvious use cases to me are

1) Same as any of the flying/marine drones we already have: most bare minimum scenario, you just pack it full of explosives, otherwise you put in some other weapon systems where you'd rather not risk exposing your actual flesh and blood people to direct fire (like say a fire support gun that is being remote controlled by the infantry squad its supporting)

2) Mission profiles that are just hideously ill suited to soldiers. In particular looking at a feature of the Russo-Ukrainian War, minefields have been extremely defining of the current fight. An unmanned deminer sounds pretty useful, but I could see it as a fast option for dealing with NBC scenarios (admittedly this is less of a big deal since the kind of militaries that have this kind of hardware tend to find NBC threats pretty non-threatening)

3) Parades I guess?

4) The most important role for any piece of experimental defense hardware: naked grifting

accidentally running into random poo poo like a fully-self-crashing tesla
recon that costs way more than a predator or quadcopter drone, but can see under tree cover
intentionally ramming into things
blasting really loud train horns for no apparent reason
shorting out in the rain or when trying to traverse a small stream
running over people
decoy that forces the enemy to respond because they don't know whether it's a real threat?

It could maybe drive through some rear end in a top hat's wall, the troops grab a dude, shoot everyone else, pack in and leave before anybody can do anything? At the same time if it rams into the wrong kind of tree it's immediately entirely stuck and the entire mission is scrapped lol, so you need to always send at least two.

i was thinking some sort of apc that could hypothetically react faster than a human and update situational command info but this would effectively replace officers, not troops, so that's not going to happen. Unless you have an officer in it. The concept of it being an autonomous platform implies some sort of training where troops will know this thing is going to show up to pick them up and drop them off, it's like a mobile bunker thing or command relay? It would be some fast action combat dogma or whatever the term is, so like mechanized infantry 2? Essentially like the old timey concept of having a naval dreadnaught with tank treads being a mobile fortress but for real and cyber and cool?

But if you have an officer in it it's not autonomous. Maybe they telecommute and play an RTS and the poors still have to go in the drat thing.
