Odds are, they changed her name because Kairi Hojo plays a bit close to her actual name (Kaori Housako), and didn't feel like she was prestigious enough to keep a name that close to her original (or she didn't want to surrender the name to the WWE, which is also very likely), which is why they went with Kairi Sane.

Couldn't he be Cody Runnels? I mean, that is his name. He should have legally changed his name before WWE if he was planning on using his father's legacy his entire career. You would be pretty stupid to run a promotion with merch and licensing deals and not have ownership over the names appearing on screen.
