fakeaccount posted:Seriously, I get more tuned up by this idea now than I did then. What I love in that show is the way they got around not allowing people to shot each other. You know in GI Joe how every one always bailed out of the jet at the last min/all the baddies where robots? Well in Dino Riders all the bad guys used mind control boxes to control the dinosaurs so the good guys would always be shooting the boxes off the Dino's and have them spaz out against the bad guys. Was always waiting for that T-Rex to finally chomp the bad guy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8f4y51qC6M Not a cartoon but reading the thread unlodged a memory of watching this in my parent's bedroom as a kid. I didn't know the name at all but just googled "real life hamster and gerbil kids show" and this showed up. I recall it being incredibly zen and mesmerizing in a way. It says it aired here in the US on Animal Planet, which may be right, but my memory says it aired on Odyssey Channel, a short-lived cable channel owned by the Henson Company (which aired a TON of obscure stuff I barely remember). Also Pappy's Land. That show holds up. I watched a bunch of it recently and it's still really pleasant.

I'm pretty sure it sounded better on TV at the time. That sounds like it's been recorded off a 3rd generation VHS.

Maya the Bee I know I watched this on Nickelodeon sometime in the late 80s. The only things I can really remember about the series are one time where characters got stuck in a spider's web and another time the grasshopper got caught in a Venus flytrap, and they were both absolutely terrifying to little me!

Someone mentioned the name of this show but didn't give it the respect it deserves. Bots Master A young neo-liberal in a corrupted capitalistic future fights the evil Megacorp, using humanoid machines who sometimes have golf clubs and baseball bats for arms. And he squirted lemon juice on their enemies. But the real memorable part of the series was that when the fighting started heating up, ZZ would yell "It's Laser Time BOYZZ" and that was the cue for viewers at home to put on their 3d glasses and watch Megacorp get their poo poo kicked in in the 3rd dimension https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLKYOSiW7U4

I remember back when ABC would advertise the poo poo out of a Garbage Pail Kids animated series leading up to the new fall Saturday morning season and then ...... nothing. I remember parents and schools got all butthurt over these stupid cards, banning/confiscating them. Chalk it up to the parents' lifetime exposure to lead and gas fumes I guess. That's probably why it got pulled at the last minute. Over 30 years later I find out the complete series is on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n8bmHi-YTs

So I don't know the name but it's bugged me for decades: I only saw part of one episode, but it was about a land (probably a dreamland) populated by sheep (who were the good guys) and opposed by a bunch of cartoon nightmare creatures. The bad guys were led by a shadowy cabal of mysterious figures that stayed hidden behind purple shower curtains. It was all in italian and it was intense to my nine-year-old self.
