That was like the Mad Max movie we all imagined when we thought of Mad Max movies.

Also, watch The Road Warrior. You can skip Mad Max (it's okay, but not fantastic) and we're beyond Thunderdome, but The Road Warrior is iconic (and really, this looks like it'll be a remake of it).

Wait, what? The Mad Max music? That's Verdi, which is why it seemed Kubrick-esque.

This is me. I've got them cued up to watch soon, though.

I like that Tom Hardy is using an Australian accent. Didn't Mel Gibson have his lines dubbed (or dubbed them himself) because his accent was too thick?

This seems to have gotten lost in the Mad Max hype.

Personally I think it looks "OK", it's likely not even a scene from the movie, so maybe the tone will be a little different, but I'm not a major fan of the way the family dynamic is displayed, just a little too stereotypical.

Also, I can't help but have "Herman's Head" flashbacks.

EDIT:

Also Mad Max looks dope.

I'm helping!

That Mad Max trailer looks like a Michael Bay movie to me. Road Warrior is an awesome movie because of its sparse setting and detailed rugged people, but that trailer looked crowded with special effects. The dust storm looks great but otherwise it doesn't seem like the right look at all for a Mad Max movie.

I recognized Dies Irae in the latter half of the trailer, but what was the music earlier, just before the shot of Charlize Theron kneeling and screaming? It sounded familiar to me but I can't place it.

Nice! They probably had to use alternate takes if they conformed it from the original negative since the original shots were already cut out and used in the film.

If you want to have it transferred digitally I can probably get it done for free. I work with a bunch of vendors who would probably pay YOU just to look at the thing.

This makes sense. Although - the material in those movies also helped. I think we can all agree this jumped to being one of the most anticipated movies of next year.

There is copy of it online, though only as of quite recently and that courtesy of the director of toy story 3, who claimed to have been hunting the thing down for years , so the footage is out there but nevertheless i think it'd be safe to say it's rare as rocking horse poo poo in terms of the number of actual prints of the footage out there. you wouldn't believe the pittance i paid either :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esaGu1w1K1g

the online clip is standard def, i must admit i'd love to see a full HD high quality digital transfer of my own print, but i'd think the price is quite prohibitive even at a length of 35 seconds and I haven't actually found anyone in my city who offers the service with 35mm film anyway. i feel like i SHOULD have it done though, purely for preservation's sake.

what i do really need to know is how i should store a thing like this.
