wedgekree posted:How can 350,000 men and a thousand guns have an AFV of 0? Only 3200 were attacking, and presumably they did so by walking on foot out to the edge of the suburbs (no vehicles) and shouting insults while the Japanese siege shot back at them with actual bullets and mortars from behind "rough terrain," whatever that means specifically.

wedgekree posted:How can 350,000 men and a thousand guns have an AFV of 0? Because WITP and lovely ground combat modelling that relies on "adjusted" AV to determine what happens. Defensive bonuses are too strong, too. AFVs stands for Armoured Fighting Vehicle and does not refer to the Assault Value Also, Grey, please stop sending bombers without air cover. You're dooming 4+ men per bomber lost, men who have families. You monster!

wedgekree posted:How can 350,000 men and a thousand guns have an AFV of 0? AFV's are Armored Fighting Vehicles, you're thinking of just AV (Assault Value). They can still get to zero adjusted AV after accounting for supplies, training, morale, terrain, etc. in this stupid ground combat model.

The troops at Chungking haven't actually had any guns or ammo for months. Mao has just press-ganged everyone in the city and armed them with whatever bricks the Japanese shelling has knocked loose.

We torpedo another sub! We make another tanker burn. This on the other hand is not a good use of military resources. We see a rare bit of air combat here. We're doing a number on their subs – with our own subs! He he he.

Your subs have been better at ASW in the last few days than your destroyers have in the entire war.

We bring down another B-17 – and you can see the ship with the air HQ is nearly here! I start this battle up again. We also hammer the former defenders of Nanning. A dull day in the air, but we did some damage in China. Grey Hunter fucked around with this message at 07:41 on Dec 19, 2016 |

The Allies throw more victims ashore at Luganville. Three torps – that may be enough to sink here, but she is close to Pearl. There is another futile attack at Chunking. Well, that was a pretty good day – I do remember to order my Luganville men to attack. This is probably a good bet.

The San Diego got pasted earlier in that carrier battle, and ended up detached while the other CLAA stuck with the carriers. Chances are she was limping home, so three torpedoes is almost certainly a sinking.
