We had a local Nazi that had a show on public access back in the late 90s. He decided it'd be a good idea to put fliers on the student cars at the high school a few blocks from his apartment. He was confronted by students when doing this and it didn't go over well, then a group of over a hundred students followed him home to yell at him. He tried to preach some hate at the group from his second floor patio, though a megaphone is nothing compared to hundreds of angry high schoolers. There was always a few Nazis that would show up to metal concerts as well. Nothing better than letting a fist fly into one of those dumb fucks as they join the moshpit.

True threats are not protected, but it's entirely possible for "I'm going to kill you" to not be a true threat. And in any event, even if the speech the speaker is engaged in isn't protected speech, you still don't get to hit him with a bat to make him stop.
