And a well-trained dog is worth about $10k, because when they're not available you need to replace 1 of them with about 10 people, which is much slower and costs a lot more money.

I learned not long ago that some golf courses pay for dogs to chase birds off the grass too, at similar costs. Not only does it cover the normal labor costs, but training is not trivial either.

She'd stalk them whenever they got near the haystack where she lived and jump up on their asses, biting them, then running off. Cows never even noticed, but that cat thought she was a queen.
