If it was like that, I fear there'd be too much overlap with my Stinger, not that I'm looking to replace it. But we are considering a Niro EV to replace the Optima, so if they had a lower-powered model that wasn't Mustang GT levels of quickness and not too expensive, I'd consider that if it looked like your image. If it was as tall as a normal SUV though probably not.

Why not make all cars look like a suppository where the only differentiating factor is a painted on logo? I mean we're already pretty close. The average car buyer sucks lol

That's a good point. I have no idea where that came from I stole it from a Facebook page making fun of boomers. Apparently the worst car on the planet is the Equinox and I kind of agree. I'm a huge Ford nutswinger but loathe cuvs and I have to admit the electric fat stang-wagon might be pretty cool.

You could do that exact picture for any period of most styles of car. 80s_coupe.jpg or 70s_sedan.jpg would look just as boring.

I do love that people try to compare the big, boring, boxy looking SUVs to coupes from the 80s which are some of the coolest cars around. Of the red 80s cars: Escort mk2 Supra AE86 FC gen3 Camaro (fight me) Starion 944 928 FB all rule.

Going back to the topic of the I4 hybrid engine in the next gen AMG C63, here's a clip of the AMG GT R Black Series prototype testing at the Nurburgring. It obviously doesn't have a V8 and the speculation is that it has the I4 hybrid engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMh7Z4dATlQ

Same thing for the 60s, 70s, etc... Commuter cars have always been boring. Nobody cares about something like a Dodge Diplomat. We remember the exciting cars, precisely because they were exciting. Theres always been a sea of boring cars out there. Nobody remembers them 20 years on though. That's why white_SUVs.jpg is such a worthless image. It doesnt mean anything.

Ford is claiming the GT500 will do 3.3 seconds to 60, and a 10.7 second quarter mile. Realistically, it's more like a 12 second 0-60, and quarter mile every couple months.

These are going to be 9sec tune and tire cars. Well minus the insane people that think mass produced mustangs are one off Bugattis and never leave the garage.

Lmao same. I'm in Western PA and recently traded my truck for a 18GT because I was tired of driving auto and it's sad in the mustang groups the pedal clutching about driving in the winter or God forbid even the rain! You can get a GT for the price of a nice Civic they ain't special lol.

I drove my '16GT through plenty of rain, and even some light snow. But, I wouldn't do it again if I had my current truck alongside the Stang.

The day before I got there, another journalist did a 10.9 iirc. The best I could manage was an 11.49 but my best reaction time was still 1.2 seconds. The car does literally everything else. It’s bloody good on track though. I don’t personally miss having a stick shift because it just means you left-foot brake everywhere instead. Edit: I posted one of the timing slips in this piece, laugh at how bad I am at drag racing: https://arstechnica.com/cars/2019/10/the-2020-ford-mustang-shelby-gt500-packs-plenty-of-smiles-per-mile/ drgitlin fucked around with this message at 15:23 on Oct 29, 2019 |

Um. Unless they were doing something weird, R/T isn’t added to the ET. The ET timer starts when you break the R/T light. R/T is the difference between the moment the green light comes on and the moment the car breaks the R/T light and starts the ET timer. If you’re just time trialing and there’s no one in the next lane, R/T means nothing.
