Yeah, hopefully CGR gets their engine department figured out in the off-season. I think Jamie lost an engine one of those weeks too. Seems unlikely to me that Larson drove the car in such a fashion that they started losing motors out of the blue.

If you look at the talent coming up through the ranks right now, the future's looking pretty bright for NASCAR. There's Elliott, Blaney, Larson, Wallace, Jones, Suarez, Briscoe, Bell, Gilliland, Burton... a lot of good young racers.

If you look at everything else, uh... yeah.

I think KyBu would probably the only other person who deserved (:barf:) the cup, he came in HOT at the end.

But those last laps, oh man. I hope they do Hot Pass next year because that made it all the more amazing.

Also, it was nice to see no BS caution at the end. Just 30 or so laps of pure racing.

Seems that when a couple of the drivers called NASCAR out a couple months ago on late bullshit cautions, the message got through.

Respect the power of the wind
The stages and the changes to the playoffs got me to tune in to more races this year, so in one respect that's a positive for NASCAR.

On the other hand, throughout the year we're told over and over again that winning means everything, but for the last race of the year winning is optional as long as you finish ahead of the other three championship drivers? That's a weird thing to hype up for the last race. And just in general the TV coverage and the Rickallenification (over-hyping) of everything is a HUGE turnoff.

The last race of the year was exciting because it was naturally dramatic on top of it being artificially dramatic. I can live with the latter if we see a lot more of the former.

Make it a requirement that you have to win the race to become champion. If none of the four do, then the playoff points leader should become champion. That way, it's at least consistent with "winning is everything." If NASCAR doesn't do this it's only setting itself up for a potential clusterfuck.

Also, nobody even bothers to race the four finalists. Larson certainly didn't want to be part of a news story about it.

Make them run their own separate race somewhere else.

It's "invoked" at every playoff cutoff. If you don't win the race, you don't advance. If you didn't advance by winning, you move on by points accumulated.

All I'm suggesting is that also applies at the last race for the championship. If you don't win it, the points leader at that point does.

another game at nationwide arena. everybody keeps asking me if they can fuck the cannon. buddy, they don't even let me fuck it

NASCAR's too busy TERKINERJERBS saving teams money to make any changes to the Chase. Save that for next week.

quote:

At-track rosters for all three series will fall under three headings: Organizational, Road Crew and Pit Crew. Job descriptions and roster maximums for each category:

• Organizational: Examples include competition director, team managers, technical director, IT specialists. In the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, teams will be allotted three organizational roster spots for one- and two-car operations, and four spots for three- and four-car outfits. XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series teams will be allowed one organizational roster spot each.

• Road Crew: Examples include crew chief, car chief, mechanics, engine tuners, engineers, specialists (for areas such as tires, aerodynamics and shocks) and spotters. The limits for these personnel by series: Monster Energy Series, 12; XFINITY, 7; Camping World Trucks, 6.

• Pit Crew: This designation refers solely to team members who perform over-the-wall service during pit stops. The maximum is five for all three series.

...did they cut an over-the-wall position? Front tire changer and carrier, Rear changer and carrier, jackman, gasman. That's six.

No, it's not. The Stages are practically useless at Homestead. Make the points actually mean something other than setting up:
