You know, if you build an 85-tonner with TSM, Claws, and a 340XL + Supercharger + JJs, you can make a 4/6(8)/4 mech which can punch with the force of a heavy gauss rifle when its TSM is running and punch heads right off even when it isn't. Alternatively, no TSM, but MASC + Actuator Enhancement Systems so you get rather accurate 12-damage punches all day every day. Put a guy with Melee Master in there, and he's going to be punching heads off like this was some sort of kung fu flick.

It's definitely an entertaining gimmick mech, even if it's not what I'd call a practical frontline combatant.

Grab a Partial Wing and Talons instead. DFA everyday. :getin:

However, you can combine AES with a supercharger. But you can't use AES with claws because assault mech AES is loving huge.

We're making some forward progress now but that's mostly due to people who signed up years ago not hopping on. Never made it through to the beginning through.

technically the list has always made forward progress! It just may not have made net forward progress...you know ...for a while.

on the other hand ~16 names can get dropped off the list in the OP, leaving about ~33 to go. Assuming some people will fail to show up, let's say 25 of those end up being actually players, that's only ~6 more scenarios of this size. Or if we get another scenario like The Best Scenario, King of the Pirates, that knocks out 11 at once. Do that and we're good to go by the end of 2015.

though I'll bet you $0 if PTN does another 11 player scenario he won't load every mech in the entire scenario down with SRMs and machine guns and small lasers and other "oh god all the dice" weapons :v:

I feel like Cataphracts range from "Pretty cool and good" to "Dear lord what were they thinking?"
Hopefully (for the player's sake) that one is a 1X or a pokey 4X and not a a nicer one with the LBX-10 or the 3L with MASC.

Good news, my new computer's arrived (which is nice since my GTX 285 is running so hot it crashes during all but the least graphically intensive games), so I'm going to be converting over tonight/tomorrow.

Thank god for Dropbox subscriptions, I won't lose any data, it'll just be a matter of reinstalling GIMP (and Steam (and a number of other things)) and we'll be good to go.

Edit: Liquid cooled motherboard is going to be a whole new experience too.

VVV I can't even run those at the moment. I'm lucky my graphics card isn't overwhelmed by YouTube it is, it just soft locks instead of crashing.

Just FYI, my SSW files didn't make the transition (for some reason). I'm hoping DropBox will recover them, but I may wind up just reverting the Clan machines to their stock loadouts rather than remaking everything.

We'll still see the King Cobra eventually.

Oh so they're not lost, just inaccessible due to laziness. I can respect that. :hfive:

If you want to be half-lazy at some point I suggest an external enclosure - like ten bucks at newegg, drop it in, plug it into a USB port, copy your poo poo and be done with it. No need to poke around inside your case plugging things in and hating your life. Obviously not suitable for day to day use but easy enough for a one-time.
