It doesn't matter what Jones is, because she'll always be all woman.

Yeah, I can see this basically being the loss.jpg of Gunnerkrigg Court, only good. quote:Oh come on overanalysis is fun, and you don't have to read it if you don't want to. I'm not criticizing the overanalysis, I'm just adding another reason to justify it. For example, I regularly load up Dresden Codak even when I know there isn't going to be an update just to gawp at the art.

Maybe it has her looking something approaching passive or content, after all most her expressions this chapter have been Angry, Fearful or otherwise exaggerated emotions?

I noticed how big her nose was in that panel- Parley must be italian.

Her eyebrows aren't visible since they're presumably hidden by her hair, which is one of the first things I noticed.

I think it's just that the blush and attention to the eyes gives her a different look than normal. Compare with the bottom panel or going back a few pages, and her face is usually a little simpler (when not in spirit-land). So is next chapter when Kat tries to introduce Annie to OkCupid?

She's had her hair down for this 'arc', which changes things a bit more than you'd think. Before and after: http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=386 Also, Tom has tonned down the line art shading on her hair a good bit.

This behaviour is a little confusing in light of how she handed the Kat-Aly situation: http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=247 Awkwardness aside, she at least seemed to understand that the new lovebirds would appreciate some time alone. What's changed since then?

If Parley and Smitty want to go make out, then they can teleport somewhere and that's that. But Annie is stating what she's going to go do, and it seems like an open offer to all three people in the scene. If they want to join her, awesome. Just because the lovebirds have stopped dancing around their attraction doesn't mean that the near death experience that Annie and Parley just had doesn't need to be dealt with.

It's probably just that Annie is much closer and more sensitive to Kat than she is to Parley and Smitty. I don't get the impression that she sees the two much outside of Medium training. <edit> I mean, hell, Parley didn't even know who Kat was at the beginning of the chapter. They're just not in the same social circles (if Annie could be said to exist in one at all). <double edit> VVV That too. VVV Oneiros fucked around with this message at 03:24 on Oct 19, 2010 |

"it is the nineties and there is time for _____" was always too earnest a slogan to waste on a middlin' puzzle game also for some reason I thought that's when gunnerkrigg took place? it's entirely possible I'm conflating it with an entirely different thing with kids and a weird school and sometimes there is magic, which probably isn't fair to tea-san
