beating the hardest difficulties from the DS era onward has basically required you to understand the enemy AI decision making anyways, so it's nice not to have to figure it out myself

Have any of the previews mentioned what the new Cha stat does? It's in all the level-up screens but I've never seen anyone say what it's for. I'm guessing it's probably Charisma and related to battalions or gambits though.
|
# ? Jul 12, 2019 18:16 |

It's exactly that. It's for your battalions. I don't know the exact mechanics, but IIRC, you need higher charisma/authority to get better battalions. And since the battalions are so heavily linked to the gambits, high cha also indirectly improves gambits.

All the classes have been revealed. How do you avoid being outclassed by horse/flyer emblem in an FE game? In 3H, the answer is to make almost every final promoted class into a flyer or horse. Welcome to genealogy 2: the revenge of horse emblem.

Of course it's hard to say for sure but I'd be hesitant on labeling the game Horse Emblem or that every single unit will be on a horse in endgame until we actually know how those things work.

Dancers are interesting. I wonder what the best class path for them will be, with the focus on sword and authority with some magic. Since they are a master class, it seems you kinda need to plan in advance who’s going to get there.

Since Gremories seem to get to use Dark Magic and is open to girls, I'm guessing War Master will too?

Another screencap of Ferdinand's support list for people to chew over: Things of note: Only Byleth has an S-rank level, and several supports also only go up to B (there's also the unusual symbol over the A rank with Hubert). The list also very conveniently exactly fits his fellow Black Eagles (+Byleth), but judging by the scoll bar his full support list is close to another full page. Selected members of other houses? Teachers? Complete unknowns?

maybe some of those supports are locked by the time skip?

It would be cool to have some people become BFFs or something like that. S support but non-romantic is my thinking. That's what the strange A support with Hubert could be?

It's also worth noting that the two people he doesn't have A supports with are both male, and the one with the special support symbol is also male.

Carlosologist posted:maybe some of those supports are locked by the time skip? Possibly, though that S-rank purely for Byleth makes that seem dubious, since we know romance options for them are locked off until then. Or, hell, maybe there's a separate list of supports for after the timeskip, and ranks pre-skip just do... something (bonus points towards ranks post-skip?). After all, unless they're somewhat genericized, you wouldn't think a bunch of conversations you'd have in school would still be relevant during a war where they're grown up 5 years later. And that's to say nothing of any personality changes - like, from another video a bunch of Bernadetta's C-ranks are apparently similar due to how shy she is, but if she's more confident post-skip you'd think they'd no longer be applicable.

You could just have different dialogue for pre/post-timeskip. The cast here seems way smaller than Fates/Awakening which reduces the amount of supports needed by a lot, so you could use that same workload to have alternative supports for pre/post-timeskip.
