I wanted to post some funny edits from the Jerma reddit from the recent hiatus, but I forgot to save them and now I can't find them because reddit is a dogshit website. One of them was of him lying in bed with the eyepatch and horn of Venom Snake, another was of him looking at his hand and it was glowing like in Doctor Who. So apparently there's not going to be a Jermawards this year? I figured it would be a more low-key affair, one of the ones where he just sits in the streaming room and talks into the camera. Instead... well, I guess this is just it huh. The retirement era has begun. I'm bummed. I really thought he would end it with more of a bang, and while I'm more than happy with normal streams rather than big event ones, I was kind of waiting on an announcement so I could get ready for it to be over. Now I'm like, oh, I guess it's over already, womp womp. I'd like to say something a little sentimental. I've recently been sort of working through the process of accepting the fact that I am a disabled person. Like, I can do most things, so I always kinda just figured I don't count as being disabled, but more recently I've found for the first time that there are things I want to do that I can't and won't ever be able to. Jerma has actually been really helpful to me as a role model. It's like, hey, this guy is disabled and he has his dream job and makes people laugh for a living, accepting that you are disabled absolutely does not mean anything with regards to your prospects for living a full and satisfying life. So that was nice. For those who don't know, Jerma has chronic health issues, most prominently back pain. He doesn't talk about it much anymore because he doesn't want people concerned over him (and because his treatments are working well I hope!) but it was a frequent topic of discussion for a while at the start of the decade when he would regularly take breaks from streaming to deal with it. He had a lot of trouble getting a concrete diagnosis, which is something I know from experience can be really draining. His doctors couldn't figure out anything specific except that it was most likely caused by an incident in his childhood in which he ate 43 Slim Jims in a single sitting, and the damage from that incident causes him recurring pain of the ribs and spine that is exacerbated whenever he doesn't do enough zerkin' off. Just remembered the anecdote where Jerma got his cholesterol tested and the doctor said it's a little high, and Jerma's snap response was to say he had two cheeseburgers on the way there and was that possibly affecting it
