I forgot how bad Dan Severn was at anything "pro wrestling" like running the ropes or throwing a clothesline. I wonder how much training they really gave him before bringing him in.

Who cares how bad he was at...anything that wasn't stiffing people and stretching them, because he was loving incredible at stiffing people and stretching them :allears:.

To be fair though, Shamrock done Severn's entire gimmick a million times better.

Which is a shame, because Severn's twice the fighter Shamrock was. Also, Jericho's book made Shamrock sound a bit unprofessional in the ring.

Dan Severn had been doing pro wrestling for awhile before he got into the WWF. He was on the infamous 1995 IWA King of Death Match tournament in a NWA World Heavyweight Championship match.

That's really interesting to note, and I had no idea. It's just watching that match with D'Lo I can see all sorts of strange timing issues coming from him. Not to take anything away from him for sure, because he was a hell of a fighter back in the day.

My guess is that because Shane was there from the very start of Mick's career, Mick insisted they speak with him.

This is really, really great...I love Terry Funk at the end: "Mick is SO tight on the road, you can hear him squeak...he won't spend a nickel on himself, but he'll spend everything on his family." That's the kind of person I think everyone wants to be, a guy that has the outward appearance of a regular, everyday dude, but that did the best with what he had, worked his rear end off, and puts everyone else before himself.

William Regal said the same thing in his book about Mick. In WCW, guys would either get their travel costs or their accommodation costs refunded. 99% got their accommodation refunded, so they could stay in decent hotels, and just swallow the plane fares. Mick got his travel refunded instead, and just stayed in the cheapest motel he could find. He'd end up paying something ridiculous like $20 a day, while other guys would have to spend a few hundred dollars on plane tickets.

Here's most of their older ones. The ones after these are on youtube. The sound quality is a bit ropey in the early episodes though, they get a better mic later.

They are bloody hilarious, whenever them or the Attitude Era Podcast put out a new show, I have to watch it ASAP.

They're being cryptic about the future of the series though. The original plan was just WM1-SS92, and they're working on a bonus episode, WM9. But they're keeping tight-lipped on what they're going to do after that, other than they're doing "something".
