More info about the Catherine update -The standard edition will cost 7,980 yen. -The limited edition will cost 13,980 yen and include a slip art box, four-disc soundtrack CD, art book, and special downloadable content set. -An Arrange Mode featuring new mechanics has been added. -There are more than 500 stages—two times the amount of the original game. -Over 20 animated scenes have been added. -You can change Catherine’s voice. In addition to Miyuki Sawashiro (Catherine’s main voice actor) and Mamiko Noto (who voiced Fuuka Yamagishi in Persona 3), nine additional voice-overs will be released as downloadable content. Man, they must've had a lot of unused stuff for Catherine that this game's existence lets them do more with cause the amount of new poo poo in that trailer was pretty significant. There seems like there's gonna be entire new scenes for the old stuff on top of the new character being an entire section of the game on her own. Also, swimsuit mode for the Stray Sheep is a funny feature

P3P and P4G did not make massive sweeping changes to the story like this game looks like it is doing. P4G had the Marie stuff, but that's still not anywhere to the level of both Catherines chasing down Vincent with knives and chainsaws and whatever the gently caress is happening with Rin where they look like they are going whole hog in giving her a fully fledged alternative route and not just like a few new puzzles and like one ending. Like the list of new features they stated for this game is pretty wild, I'm genuinely surprised this port isn't just add a few new anime cutscenes, new character ending, and online mode for the multiplayer.

Also this game is definitely going to be entirely redubbed for Western release so rip Troy Baker and Laura Bailey as Vincent and Catherine and say hello to your new VAs of Matt Mercer and Alexis Tipton

I mean you could always take this opportunity to cast different VAs for different takes on the characters and make something new instead of trying to replicate what you can't have for the sake of trying to create Great Value Vincent. I'd much rather hear Ian Sinclair voice Vincent instead of Mercer being called up as "The Troy Guy." to deliver Kinda Troy Baker voice, but not exactly. It's not like this is the first time they've done this too. Chie, Fuuka, Ken, Theo, and Rise all had noticeable changes that weren't imitations all to varying success; Burch as Rise being the worst because P4D's voice direction was exceptionally bad, but her voice being different definitely took people off guard at first too. Trying to replicate old performances also just feels really hokey to me and I'm generally against VAs having the designation of imitating other VAs with the exception of like old cartoon characters who have a very established voice and gags. So I just learned that the P3 and P5 dancing games don't have a story mode which is an annoyance I guess. It instead features a new mode "where the player can enjoy interacting with other characters" which is just vague enough that I can justify it being anything so that my preorder of the big 3 game collection is good and not bad.

I only played the first couple hours of p4d's story mode and it seemed OK. I guess i will probably play it again on ps4. Maybe it was actually bad or maybe I am actually bad (possibly both).
