it's very easy not to be tracked by companies. all you have to do is pay for a vpn, run extremely restrictive firefox and ublock configs that will severely impact your browsing experience, never use any of the websites or ims that everyone uses for everything, and only use the internet on your pc. simple as

You see now I'm worried that the big internet algorithms have seen me endlessly browse second hand camera equipment sites and places that sell miniature soldiers and either that has put me in a box with people who want to asphyxiate their step-sisters while inside a washing machine, or it's taking that from my location data alone and Australia is full of nightmarish laundry rapists.

incognito is useful as far as making sure your browser history isn't retained, for someone physically going into your computer and checking it's not really useful as far as preventing you from being tracked, by the owners of the websites that you visit

Yeah but are browsers crosschecking cookies? I know I've always used whatever Microsoft default browser is or chrome on the phone to compare my cookie results to what I hope are neutral when it comes to youtube/reddit/Google searches and they always differed

hardware fingerprinting and the rest shouldnt change your results from content algorithms though. well aware of the multitude of ways government agencies can and do track but on the topic of websites trying to show you content to tickle your lizard brain those things shouldn't be affecting much
|
# ? May 20, 2024 08:29 |

why not ah shucks, we want to track all our customers from other sites but we can only trivially tell which exact hardware of theirs just got used on both sites, guess we won't then

My best guess is that a Shiba inu pressed a button by accident.

if you ever wanna create mysterious circumstances around your death, use a single engine plane or helicopter in your suicide. no one will ever know for sure if you intended to plow into that mountain or if the vehicle just did that

I've been an Atlantic subscriber for ~25 years and I really feel that since Goldberg took over the place is an intelligence mouthpiece. I can't prove it. It's just my impression. So I'm going to guess/assume that the narrative in the piece is intelligence approved at the very least and probably intelligence crafted.
