Seriously though, they dont quote any sources at all which is really strange. I doubt the club would ever confirm we werent into or were into someone 100%

The day before that St Kilda/Fyfe article, Cooney "wrote" a column telling Fyfe to leave Freo, one of the reasons being the mining boom is over in Perth (:confuoot:). But the only reason I can see him coming to Melb is for team success, and I don't think going to St Kilda puts him in a significantly better situation to justify the move

Really? I'd say St Kilda are far closer to the flag than Freo. A Fyfe type would put them right in the frame

Let's get a little crazy. Let's have some fun.
Especially given how even the comp is at the moment. There's no superteam like late 00s Geelong or Threepeat Hawthorn running around, you just have to play consistent good footy at the right time.

Fyfe would improve nearly every team, perhaps not GWS/Geelong. But with St Kilda, to me, its fells like the Emperor has no clothes, every talks about how great they'll be, but I can't really see it. And thats just a personal opinion from someone who doesn't follow St Kilda very closely, so I'm sure I'll be proven wrong. And in terms of profile he won't be come a Chris Judd at St Kilda, for the very reason St Kilda isn't Carlton in terms of following/media. I'd be more concerned about him leaving it was Rich/Coll/Ess/Carl chasing him.

We should be chasing Fyfe, Gibbs, Martin, and Josh Kelly, and considering it a failure if we don't get at least two of them, but something something wrong sort of person organic growth how good are the Crouch brothers?

He's not entirely wrong.
If you're a team that views your premiership window as "wide open" and yet aren't getting the job done, you should be chasing the kinds of players who are at that tier. And if you can't get them, you should view it as a failure.
Spoiler alert: except for Gibbs (who doesn't belong next to Fyfe, Martin and Kelly), who they might get, the Adelaide Crows are almost certainly going to have a failure of an offseason.

Setting your criteria for failure as two of the top ten mids in the comp (not Gibbs, but the rest yes) is actually dumb

If only Brisbane wanted a player from the Crows which Adelaide don't particularly need in order to facilitate the trade, almost like a Josh Jenkins type 🤔

Yeah, that's a fair argument.
Adelaide should be approaching all three with heavy brown paper bags stuffed with money fully expecting to get one.
They will probably dip their toe in, get scared off by the bigger bids and gently caress off to masturbate to Crouch photos.

Gibbs plus one is doable, and if our poaching team can't attract one of them with the money we have spare, and our current proximity to a real premiership chance, then they're in the wrong job, and we need to find people who can get it done.

I reckon the Saints are only really missing a classy outside mid or two, they're tracking brilliantly. Will be a real premiership threat in the next few years IMO
