For as many kiosk iPads that are around and about, I could understand why the 16GB continues to exist. A square register can't possibly use more than 1GB ever.

I'm like 99% sure Photos arranges by timestamp. It should be fairly easy to change, I would think. Really, though, surely there's a better way to read books than viewing scans in the stock Photos app.

I went into the Windows folder where I keep these scans and I ticked off every box that was Sort By: **** Date, and then had the folder sort by each of those dates. Virtually all of them kept sorting in page order, which makes sense being that, if I'm scanning a book, I would scan page 001 first and keep going to the natural end. Believe it or not, it works very well for viewing. I touch Photos and then pick the folder I wish to view, of which there are dozens, and then I tap, usually, on the first image in that folder and scroll through with little swipes of my fingertip. If I want to stop, I just press the button at the bottom and it goes back to the desktop and holds my spot. I have probably 6 dozen or so folders like this and they are all in perfect order, but this one has been baffling me for years.

How's the iPad mini 2 16 GB model look for web surfing/movie streaming home device? Is 16gb good enough for just apps? I won't be putting pics or movies on the device itself just purely streaming all media over wifi in the house. I'll probably pick up a refurbished model - how's the battery usually on those?

After 2-3 years of using a 32 GB iPad Air, I've realized that the capacity isn't enough. I've deleted just about every non-reading app on it and I still can't fit all the pdfs/ebooks I want on it. So I want to get a bigger iPad. I was originally looking at the 128 GB iPad Air (same as the old one but with more storage capacity), but then I realized there's the Pro out, at 256 GB too. Is it worth upgrading to Pro, or is the Air still usable? Will I be shooting myself in the foot by buying an older model? Disclaimer: I still like the Air, and I'm no professional (so no 12-inch screens).

I have the big fatty pro and I really love the speakers. If either of those are important to you, or a stylus, ever, then get the Pro. Otherwise the Air 2 is still fine.

I'd still go for at least 32 GB if I were you, though; I think it's only like $60 more for a refurb, and it's nice to have that extra space in case you decide you want to do more poo poo with it. Apple refurbs have new batteries installed in them so there's nothing to worry about on that front.

I would expect no older than iPad Air, but I could be wrong. iOS 10 is available on everything going back to iPad 2 and iPad mini 1, and I have a hard time believing it would be on those. (Incidentally, it's really time to end of life those, drat.)

Speaking of iOS 10, with all the 3D Touch features, do you think this would mean 3D Touch is coming to new iPads in the fall? Maybe used to differentiate between the iPad Airs and Pros (3D Touch vs Pencil support)?

I'd be legitimately shocked if non-Pro iPads have 3D Touch while iPad Pro don't. Not to say it's impossible, but I'd call it very unlikely.

Haven’t read the dev docs or anything but it looks like they’re using long presses to access things on the SE from what I’ve read, not sure that extends to all 3D touch events though.
