GOP will not abandon Trump under any circumstances. Even if he openly announces supporting the opposing candidate for the less supportive GOP house reps and senators, they'll still openly support him no matter what. Because not only do they need the extremely fickle Trump voterbase to win seats, but a large enough portion of their voterbase will spite vote for a third party to try (and partially succeed) to sink the GOP if they try to openly fight Trump. And note that the Democrats aren't any better - they'll run Hillary unless she dies of a stroke - In which case - Corey Booker, Elizabeth Warren, or CHELSEA in 2020 and it'll be a shot for shot remake of 2016.
