At least in theory they'll be tall. All four trees that were planted in the house I live in now were planted in February 2022 and all four of them are dead, and similar things have happened to the rest of the trees on the street, except for the houses with residents who are obsessive about fertilizer and such.

I went to Meow Wolf this weekend. Since it was located in the Grapevine Mills Mall I spent some time afterwards walking around and soaking up the culture of NorthEast Tarrant County. There was one store called "Texas Collectables" that was the most AlamoSexual thing I've ever personally witnessed. I only got one photo, but the whole thing was an absolutely surreal landscape of crosses, bullets, longhorn skulls, Texas flags, dish-platter belt buckles, and faux driftwood.

wife went to the premier of it, said it was good but not as good as the one in Denver. apparently Dallas' one is very similar to the one in Santa Fe, maybe Houston will be more similar to Denver

That's a bummer since the Denver one was kinda just OK compared to the one in Las Vegas. I'll still go because I love a weird art installation.

On average we apparently ARE a bunch of dumb rednecks, so like, until we stop giving evidence of it, I'm unsure of what else to do but keep disavowing it all.

Do they? I'm uncertain they get paid anything aside from maybe some small honorarium like corporate boards do (though of course it would be public money if so). But like, if anything, it's not high dollar.

Corporate board members typically get paid a lot more than what I would personally call “a small honorarium”.
