He has a desire and drive to be more than what WWE will ever see in him. He has probably made a poo poo ton of money at this point as well. Him spending a year in New Japan before going to AEW or wherever is probably one of the best options for him. He can get a crash course in working outside of WWE in Japan then come back and have bangers for awhile.

Rusev badly wants things to work out which is why he's so loud, and he's basically said as much. Lana wants to maintain their specific tv connections. He will probably get an automatic contract extension from taking time off if he doesn't agree to a deal soon, and then they'll work on him in earnest with bullshit about things being different. i think you could count on one hand that has been blown up by a firework the amount of people in WWE who actually want to leave and aren't just frustrated but looking for a reason to stay. if I have read the guy wrong and he's not similar to Sasha and the Revival in this regard (especially given his partner's interests) then that'd be good for wrestling. Here's hoping tbh. cheers
