Kind of toying with the idea of running a thread poll for some informal awards to the comics that get posted here regularly, somewhere towards the middle of the year. Voting categories that have come to mind so far are stuff like 'Best Living Comic,', 'Most Wasted Premise', 'Most Insufferable Character', etc. Any thoughts?

Best and worst soap. (And "soap" would be defined as any strip focused more on a continuing storyline than a daily joke, so that includes action strips like Spidey and Phantom. I could go either way on whether comedy soaps like Luann, Winkerbean, or Sally Forth would count.)

Also biggest quality gap between the classic and modern versions.

Luann and Funky Winkerbean are definitely soaps. Crankshaft is more debatable, but I'd class Sally Forth as a soap too. I'd actually categorise stuff like Phantom, Spidey and Mark Trail as action or adventure rather than soap though, even though there is some definite crossover.

I guess it could be broken down into best and worst drama soap, action/adventure (soap), and comedy soap, but this is creating a lot of categories.
