So reading through Cadian Blood again for the BadCast book club reminds me once again how much it sucks that things like Sentinals aren't very good on the table.

Are those being run as Death Guard or something?

War Convo and Space marines.

The Stormfiends are Kastellan Robots with the Nightmare as the Datasmith. Rat Ogres are Katephron Robots. Veer Myn as Rangers and Vanguard. Verminlord as the Knight. Doomwheel as the Ballistari. That horrible abomination of parts from several things, including a rubber rat as the dunecrawler. Space marine bodies with skaven heads and tails are marines. Grey Seer is the Librarian. Ramshakles Termite drills as Drop Pods. The special Skaven assassin as a Culexus. Rat wolves as the Rustalkers and Infiltrators.

The list isn't really usable anymore since they outlawed battle brothers riding in marine drop pods. It kind of is, just can't drop the skiitari like I had been.

Bitz trading sucked because nobody was selling Runewars or those Malifaux models. It was annoying.

Meh, the bits trading at Adepticon has sucked for the past couple of years anyway. They changed the rules so only people with badges could participate as well as banning actual sales, telling people they could only trade (though it's not really enforced.) It's a bummer, since previous years had some really good deals.

Been years since I painted but I think it came out ok. Also got to look at all the Ork 40k and fantasy poo poo I have piled up. I got waaaaay to many metal killa kans.

I just bought a bunch of stuff from these guys: http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/

And I'm really happy with it. Pretty perfect for urban sci-fi. I got a few of the mustang looking cars and one of the blade runner spinner looking cop cars and one of the trash cars, and a lot of the vending machines and street lamps and junk like that.

I think I'm just going to stick with my cities of death terrain and buy some laser cut ladders and walkways for shadow war.

The armored containers will do well for scatter terrain and I have a couple of Goliaths that will also be great for terrain.

To boldly be eaten where no grot has been eaten before!
Here are my first two kill teams for criticism

Orks

Nob - big choppa, slugga - 185
2 x Spanner boy – shoota, red dot laser sight – 220
6 x Yoof, shoota – 220
3 x Boy – choppa, slugga – 240
1000 points

12 models starting, means it will outnumber pretty much any opposition. After first game burn a cache to get 2 more boyz with good gear, then get two more yoofs after the next game.

Vostroyans
Veteran Sergeant – laspistol – 135
2 Specialist – sniper rifle, clip harness, 1 with camo – 245
1 Specialist – flamer – 110
6 Veteran guardsman – lasrifle – 510
1000 points

At maximum capacity so after the 1st game it's a power sword for the sergeant and grenades and hot shot power packs for everyone else.

Opinions guys? Vostroyans is based on the models I have. I can pick up the plasma gun or grenade launcher at some point in the future.

Next up: I have a bunker that I may or may not do up similar, and I'm going to see about building a listening post using the bitz I've got. May eventually do a landing pad as well.

I use a 5 clown team with 2 upgraded with advanced equipment. It's a bit of a balancing act because what you WANT is to kill as many as possible, without wiping out a squad. Hit and run only works if you have someone to disengage from and if everyone is dead then you just left your 3 toughness 5+ armor save dudes out in the middle of loving nowhere.

Edit: Nevermind just realized you were talking about SW I'm an idiot

I think the deal is Eldar and Dark Eldar don't particularly like each other, but the life of any Eldar, even one you don't especially like, is infinitely more valuable and more worth protecting than any of the inferior civilizations.

The way I put it is "Family is family even if your family is that cousin who makes meth in his garage and fucks his sister".

Ynnari don't even really work as "Combining" the eldar unless 8th intends to ban homonculi and the avatar of khaine (not impossible I guess). Even in the lore the Ynnari are these weird little religious zealots as opposed to something all eldar are down with.

I've done a hobby this weekend:

(click for huge)

The BaC Contemptor, slightly reposed and with some DA icons attached, and then toe-stubber, one of exactly two metal models I've bothered to hang onto in the 8000 or so points of DA I have (the other, of course, is a Terminator Chaplain, my very favorite of all GW models). Toe-stubber is the sole survivor from the only time TheChirurgeon used his Warhound in a game, and I deep-struck 15 or 20 Terminators to chainfist and Thunderhammer it down. Toe-stubber is named that because a) in my head, the Titan stubbed its toe on him and died, and b) that stupid thing (an old 2nd edition Rhino headlight) I glued to the base so I didn't lose him in the Dead Model Pile, also makes it look like he's about to stub his own.

I also primed a bunch of dudes that will, when painted, give me a full demi-company, but that's a project for a weekend where I don't spend 90% of my time getting trashed on rum and watching basketball.

Oh hell yes. I'm about to spend entirely too much money on these. The Chaos versions you did look dope as poo poo, too.

And harlequins, yes. The only stuff not permitted is forgeworld, the avatar of khaine (because ynnari are basically religious converts to ynnead the new Eldar god of death) and dark eldar homonculi, since they're basically counter to ynneads goals.

Any thoughts on Vaylund Cal? He seems pretty solid with an S10 thunder hammer, but he's drat expensive. He's pretty much identical to the 30k Iron Father though, just have to handwave that the iron father has a big axe instead of a thunder hammer, so he's easy for me to use. Was thinking of putting him in a land raider with some cataphractii terminators.
