A cheese. You put it inside some dishes like lasagna.

And when it goes on top at the last minute it's a garnish.

Counterpoint: it also comes in little packages that you can store in your junk drawer with the ketchup and the salt, forever.

I agree. Parmesan cheese, like other pizza-adjacent things, is good, even when it is bad.

I thought of 'Yobbers when I read about this contest sponsored by AirB&B. They will pay a total of four people to stay in an Italian village (Matero, Italy) this Summer from June through August as part of a cultural exchange/village revitalization/international recognition program. Details are HERE.

NOTE: There's an option for couples to apply.

I have a feeling someone here would be interested in this.

Good luck!

in my house, we use shakey cheese like any other spice. a pinch of salt, some fresh ground pepper, BAM -- nice pour of shakey cheese.

I've just skimmed the T&Cs, and for me the benefit wouldn't be worth it, since I'd be giving AirB&B and the sponsor irrevocable infinite rights to my name, image, etc, in exchange for travel and subsistence expenses.

For someone who doesn't live quite as close to Italy perhaps that's a better deal

well put. I love me some real reggiano and i usually keep it in stock, but i will also pour a mountain of suspiciously unrefrigerated Kraft parm granules onto my food any day, if it's what's available

BoldFrankensteinMir

A BYOB code book would just be a 70's cookbook that came with a plastic-gears pasta extruder, and one out of every five words would be scribbled out and replaced with "Izza Soup!"

I'm banned from going back to Russia and Ukraine (mom is from Crimea) because of my citizenship and Mom still gets letters from dead relatives telling her to visit them in Moscow.
