Surprise, my unvaccinated sister got covid, probably from the Packer game on Christmas. I saw her very very briefly and gave her a hug and said Merry Christmas outside right before we left so I just did a rapid test and am negative thankfully. A friend’s girlfriend had been making plans for his birthday tomorrow and they both just tested positive so I feel bad for them after making reservations, but I’m pretty glad I don’t have to to go anywhere now because I was starting to get anxious about it.

I used to work for an office supply store and the only vacation time I'd take would be around Christmas to New Year's to visit my family back East. One year I got a new lead in my department also requested the same time off. I get they're above me but I was banking on tenure, and when I talked to my general manager, he said, "We'll work something out." So I booked my flight, take my vacation, and when I get back I find out I was fired for desertion. Later found out management was trying to cut payroll and my rate was kinda stupid high (I was able to keep my rate from when I was in Boston when I moved to Portland) & saw this is a convenient moment. Oh well, it gave me the impetus to do art full-time and that office supply store closed that location. Win-win!

Almost had a patient get violent with me right now. I was able to talk him down but he thought I was calling him a liar and stood up ready to go. 65 years old. Like I said, I apologized and got him laughing by the end and we both apologized for it but that was tense. You might be saying that he’s just 65, but he was a former welder and might have some dementia. This dude is build like a truck and he’s huge. That would have been a loving brawl.
