What's ridiculous is that the driver's comments on his video suggest that he applied the handbrake because the brakes were shot. If you actually look at the video, the idiot has his hand ready on the handbrake for a good five seconds while still accelerating.

Worth noting that pulling the handbrake pitched him into the Armco and sent him sideways through a slow chicane. Lucky there wasn't anybody in the middle of it at the time.
