He’s the 600-pound Youtuber whose early videos where he talks about his health, and what he’s trying to build for himself, are sweet, and honest, and make you tear up and want him to lose weight, and improve his health and life. Then, he plummets straight into racist alt-right Trump-loving douche territory. It’s a loving shame. I think he’s sub-400, now, thanks to bariatric surgery.

Captain Monkey posted:How long ago was his surgery? I don't understand how you could stay over 300lbs with a gastric sleeve/bypass. I’m not sure exactly how long, but t’s been a while. I know about six people who’ve had the surgery. We were all part of a circle of friends and acquaintances, and a very successful woman in our group actually paid for the surgery for a number of people. Out of those, I think three stayed fat (although less fat than they started), or put the weight back on. The drive to eat is very strong, and, as you adapt, you can work your way back into old habits. Sarcopenia posted:Yeah but he is also that dude. He had to tell people that the attractive friend was in fact gay and he wasn't getting cucked by a (of course) black man. I didn’t know about that. I followed his videos when he was talking about his health, and the possibility of dying, and, later, his wife, and his plans for the future. Then, he started saying dumb poo poo, and I lost interest.

veni veni veni posted:Wow they actually passed that? it seemed so wildly unethical and possibly illegal I'm actually kind of surprised. nah the state of georgia used to exempt jet fuel from sales tax. this impacts all purchasers of jet fuel in the state, but really delta takes most of the benefit since they are by far the largest purchaser. this exemption existed from 2005 to 2015, when it was repealed. there was talk of reinstating in in the 2018 tax bill but this didn't happen because of political idiocy. governor deal signed the bill while scolding republicans for their "antics" because the bill is more than just this one tax exemption, it's the state 2018 tax overhaul law i dunno why this is getting so much play nationally except that it underlines that in a fight between two special interests, the republican candidate for governor in an election year will side with the gun lobby over the airline lobby. but delta isn't going anywhere, their situation in 2018 is the same as it was in 2017 except some state legislators went on the record as picking a fight with delta, which is phenomenally dumb. there's nothing illegal here tho, and probably nothing unethical, even though it is indeed dumb as hell

Seriously, cities falling all over themselves to poo poo tax breaks for Amazon (or anything else) is really dumb. Not quite as dumb as whoring your city out for an Olympics, but pretty dumb. And it's the "small-government Republicans" who are supposed to be the very ones against that sort of political cronyism and favoritism.
