Silence means that they don't have to reckon with the incongruity of those two positions. What MeToo has done, among many other things, is make that silence untenable. It is not surprising, though it is disheartening, that when forced to publicly choose a side, that the shitbirds choose to continue being shitbirds. It sucks, but this is necessary.
