Robo Pope posted:Why. Why are people so horrible? What the gently caress. Creepy Gunnerkrigg fans really upset me. I know it's an inevitability on the internet, but there's just something particularly gross and depressing about people who look at a smart, nuanced story about schoolkids and feel the need to slap dicks all over it. It distresses me that there are seriously people out there who can't look at girl-centric media without thinking "Hmm this isn't bad, but they could really use more semen on their faces!!" Ironic Twist posted:My favorite part of that is how they assume the artist would want to look at/care about that poo poo. I used to run the forums for a webcomic that was pretty popular around 2004-07, and people would do this all the time. One guy wrote his thesis on the comic's subliminal homosexual messages and 'the conquering of the phallus', and sent it to the creator. I'm all about deconstructive literary criticism and all, but this was a webcomic pastiche of 80s cinema about a guy fighting aliens.

So, the Annan Waters song by Kate Rusby is pretty cool, huh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joj4BqEfhis&feature=related And huh, I never realised the Annan Waters were a non-Gunnerkrigg thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Annan Thanks for the linkage, Tom.

Andrew Hussie apparently thought people making porn of his 13-year-old characters was funny, but he is the Humanimals guy so his personal sense of humor about this kind of thing might be a little out of whack.

I think it's nice that Donald's giving her the chance to save face there.

Behold, for I have had the ending of this comic revealed to me in a dream: Shortly after seeing Kat for the last time, Annie reads a story to her own child as she lays dying... while falling 30,000 feet after jumping out of a burning C-130 Also Harry Potter and the 2012 NFL draft are somehow involved. ...You know, on second thought, that's probably not going to happen. Regarding actual topics, I don't think I've read many other comics that have managed to convey such raw emotion as this one does. It really makes you wonder just what her father said to her, especially because she said it "Didn't even make sense". Whatever it was, it's got me on the edge of my seat.
