I understand not wanting to delete the reasons for probating someone and getting complaints from other users, but I think editing out hatespeech slurs is better than leaving them if it's in a context where that person was moderated for using them.

I also like to prove that I hate slurs by using a half dozen of them for no reason. e: The zero tolerance policy got put in place because of Racist Guiding Light and a few other posters who wouldn't stop with 'ironic' racism. It quickly became very well established as a rule. It also had its intended consequence of ending the 'ironic' racism! Most of the people posting in this thread were here when that happened, and the only people I recall objecting are the ones who still pine for Racist Guiding Light to come back and show everyone the way.
