I went to the store intending to buy an acoustic, however after playing one of these: (Levinson Blade Delta Standard) that intention fell by the wayside... It will be mine, oh yes. edit: Compared to the Fender: The neck isn't a baseball bat (yeah I know the neck on a tele isn't, but compared to this...). It's not obscenely overpriced. A left-handed Fender Tele is somewhere around NZ$2200, the Blade is only $1500. "Variable Spectrum Control" which is a fancy pre-settable EQ, giving you an even greater range of a tones from a guitar design which already has a huge range of tones. That and I liked the colour. Behringer A/B Switch and a 2 1/4" in 1 1/4" out coupler thing. The idea is that one day I'll have a bass and a guitar going into the same amp (cheap solid state)/two different amps (badass guitar amp & cheap solid state bass amp). So the setup will go something like: Guitar -> A -> Tuner -> Pedals -> Amp Bass -> B -> Tuner -> Pedals -> Amp ...get it?

Roland Cube 30X My guitarist thinks it sounds better than the original Cube 30. Bought this for two reasons: I plan on buying a guitar soon (might be an Exit 22, not sure yet), and I plan to re-amp things I've already recorded through this. Bonus points for the Power Squeezer, if only for its name.

What's with the AxeFX site simply saying the thing emulates "49 amps" but that's all they tell you? I want to know what models they have, even if its their thinly veiled amp knockoff names. I don't want 45 Fender and Marshall ripoffs and then a couple random other models to fill in the remaining models. Whatever..

Check the AxeFX wiki, it's got a big list of the amp model names and what amp they model. There's also a model list with pictures of the original.

Wiring Diagram: Click here for the full 612x384 image. 2 Switches: one switches the effect pedals in and out, the other selects between guitar+ guitar amp, and bass + bass amp. This was using 3p3t switches so that LEDs could be added later to provide some indication of where the signal was being routed. If you don't want lights, then DPDT switches are perfectly fine. I need to fix some string buzz at the bridge and maybe steam out a couple of small dings, but it plays like an absolute dream. When you get it, let us know how the pickups sound: I have an EMG 81/85 set in mine right now that sounds fantastic, but I'm curious to know what the original set sounds like. And the natural finish really is gorgeous.

I predict we'll be seeing less and less Fender new instruments here. The new pricing is up on Sweetwater. Take note of the $600 MIM Standard Strat/Tele.

To improve the angle of the string-nut relationship, more or less. On some non-offset headstocks, the lighter strings might not properly tension at the nut without some minor downward guidance.

Yeah, looks like they're adhering to first-in,first-out inventory pricing. So get the old ones while they're still around, because the new ones aren't $200 better.

I can just build a warmoth strat for the same price as an MIM strat, now. Guess I know what my next project is.

Korg's stuff has gone up a load, hell, the Microkorg is almost 200% of the price it was about 8 months ago. Someone needs to tell the industry that "recession" usually means prices go down.

Agreed posted:I predict we'll be seeing less and less Fender new instruments here. Fender's pricing is up all over, from what I recall, and this is after the recent price raise about 6 months ago on all Fender items. I think they've hit some hard times; I don't know how true it is but last I heard is that they recently laid off 50 employees in Corona.

Just picked up a 2009 MIM Standard Strat. I swapped back and forth between it and an American Strat for about an hour and couldn't hear or see any significant differences. I don't know if that means that it's a very high quality build, or if I am just extremely bad at noticing subtleties and distinguishing between them. The latter seems more likely. Either way, I'm pretty happy with it so far.

So, I just bought a OneSpot so I can finally run me pedal setup all at once! Pictures will come as soon as I get a camera, but for the moment my setup is running like this: PRS Tremonti SE > Dunlop Hotrod Pink Crybaby > Digitech MMX Metal Master > Arion Tube Master > Arion Stereo Chorus > Fender Champ 25 It's super fun and I plan on building my own pedal board eventually, but the thing is... I've got 4 spots on the daisy chain I'm not even using yet. I have to buy at least four more pedals.
