As says bad stator so that’s probably part of why it’s so cheap. But stators aren’t THAT expensive, so it’s probably still worth it if you don’t mind the unique snowflake 03 model

Seems like you could buy it now, (freeze to death riding it home,) replace the stator, and sell it in the spring for a decent profit. If I had a garage I’d almost be tempted.

Stators are cheap and easy to replace. If nothing else is wrong with it, that's a screaming deal. Of course, it is one of the ugliest color/body styles for an sv, but still.

Also they're not open to lowballing and aren't in a hurry, so no red flags there, I only managed to bargain down to $8,000 over messages. $8,000 for a 2019 ZX-6R non-ABS with around 600 miles would be about low-mid retail according to NADA guide for the area, so it would be tough to get one out the door at a dealer for much less than $10k I'd think. It's hard to find really new sportbikes like this on CL in my experience, especially with no first time rider drop damage. No ABS though, and that's kinda my big sticking point, I've always had ABS on my bikes and this would be for street riding. Insurance would be a bit higher too ![]()

The funny part is that Kawasaki updated the ZX6R with their fancy traction control for 2019, so that bike has really really nice electronics for gripping the road under power, but lol no abs.

I wonder if that's a big reason why the dude is getting rid of it. I also wonder if they did it to keep the MSRP under $10k, so they can say "hey look a supersport for under 10 grand". Brand new now, those and the 2020 models (so yeah they do make them still without ABS) are MSRP $9,999.

This is 100% on me because I should be practicing panic stops at freeway speeds on some back road, but I've definitely avoiding braking at full capacity in sudden situations and just swerved between cars because I wasn't sure if I could brake hard enough without losing the front end. This also means I was following too close and not looking ahead enough, but ABS is something I've never had but will be a requirement on my next bike. Unless I get a DRZ or a dirt bike.

I can say with absolute confidence I'd have crashed here without ABS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKTJWaAjrPY (language and volume warning, like it says). If you watch my headlight you can see I brake as hard as I feel confident with given the slippery and bumpy road surface, then the bit where I remember ABS exists and just try and pull the lever through the handlebar. Often it's not the lockup that'll hurt you, it's not using 100% of the braking force that's available to you.

I had two significant crashes, One could have been avoided by having ABS, the other one could have been avoided by having traction control. I regret not having either on all three of my current motorcycles.

I have a 450 exc-f and it did not have ABS as an option and as far as I’m aware none of the plated dirt bikes have it as an option despite being sold in the EU.

That's definitely going to come from Honda first. And actually Honda is doing some crazy stuff with their Dakar bikes where they have on the fly adjustable suspension.
