This is one of my favorite things in EA games. When something in the programming has decided that the goal will not be scored, but the graphical circumstances won't allow for it. So it makes some interesting decisions with how the human body moves and works. Normally they just teleport people. Sometimes it's more fun like this.

I guess the Shadow of the Colossus remake tweaked the difficulty a bit. Not sure how I'm supposed to climb this.  It fixed itself moments later.

I never played Shadow of the Colossus. Everyone keeps telling me it's a great game, but I just don't have any interest in playing it. I think it's because I didn't like Ico and I'm just holding a grudge.

Ico and SOTC have almost nothing in common beyond sharing a studio and the washed-out art style, and the remake doesn't even have the second one.

But when I played I got lost for an hour or so because the only guide you have is a beam of light that just points through mountains and poo poo so good luck finding a real path, and the horse is pretty much uncontrollable. It just goes where it wants to. I killed like four giant dudes before getting bored of wandering aimlessly and moving on.

I really, really enjoyed Shadow of the Colossus, but it does seem like a game that might not be everyone's cup of tea. It's impressively unique and I'm a huge sucker for the art-style and themes, but the gameplay isn't especially deep and there's long stretches of down time. If the atmosphere and exploration isn't enough to satisfy you during the down time between each fight, I would expect those stretches would bore you to tears. It's definitely trying to be an art game; while I'm a bit of a sap for those, I will readily concede that approach frequently gets in the way of the 'game' portion of the proceedings.

I remember approaching a ship to steal whatever was on board it in that game, and as soon as I got within vision distance, it suddenly rocketed into the air vertically. It then slid downward slowly until it touched the water again, and bounced back up to its previous height. I had to reset to fix it, because the physics were starting to cause slowdown.
