Nathan Fillion still appears as Castle's ghost/hallucination, providing cryptic insights and comic relief. That would explain Nathan Fillion's tweet about it being the last Castle. Not saying that's the case just pointing it out.

There are plenty of people who file taxes as Single regardless of marital status, it depends on for whom the benefit would be greatest. Same with Benefits - each person could be individually covered by their companies insurance (my brother and his wife are covered separately due to a condition of his that wouldn't be covered by her insurance. Both gainfully employed, he a business owner and she working for the state, it just works out to be the most cost effective for them.) Besides watercooler chat, there plenty of ways for it to never come up. Some people don't want to talk about it. I have a coworker who I've known for years and I couldn't tell you whether or not she has kids. She's in her 50's, talks about nieces, nephews, etc but never kids. I know she's married. I'm certainly not going to go up and ask her what the deal is with her kids. It's just as likely that someone as private as Beckett (remember the [all the] seasons where Castle asks inane questions about her personal life? Her sex life? She's accustomed to just shrugging the question and moving on. I'm not surprised that her not knowing she was married is something she talked about often. That being said, I haven't watched the episode yet so v0v.

I don't think it's 3XK; he's more into mind-fuckery. But then again maybe his creepy surgeon girlfriend put a Castle double in the car and Lanie won't run the dental records and find out it isn't really him until the 44-minute mark. Whatever you do, don't read any comments to articles about the show. Like Tumblr, it's full of people being drama queens and threatening to never, EVER watch the show again. The whole furor over "we didn't get the wedding!" reminds me of the early days of South Park when instead of telling you who Cartman's father was, they ran a Terence and Philip episode. It certainly wasn't the show's best moment, but I was entertained. But then, all I've ever asked this show to to is entertain me for an hour each week and function as a Nathan Fillion delivery system. EDIT: I'll be fine with the S6 finale as long as the resolution in S7 does not include amnesia as a plot element. That was hilarious. Lanie wailing about the dress, and I'm thinking, "Oh, thank God." Another nice little moment was the look on Alexis's face when she heard about Beckett's first marriage. Sort of a "aha, now my shacking up with the hippie doesn't seem nearly so bad in comparison" look.

I'm hoping that if the person(s) in the Black SUV of Doom are 3XK or maybe even a new Big Bad, that Castle's character gets more of the drama focus. The main reason I liked the "Alexis gets kidnapped" episodes was because we got to see freaked out/badass Castle, and Fillion got a chance to do more with the character than he usually does.

Heat Wave is easily the weakest of the Heat books. You can tell it was banged out in about a month once they found out the show was getting its second season. They get progressively better - Frozen Heat was quite good. Haven't read Deadly Heat yet, as I always save the books for the summer hiatus. They're fun reads.

Now that I've had time to digest the ending, I should have seen it coming. This season has been way too rainbows-and-puppy-dogs up to now. Even Senator Evil's arc wrapped up nicely. And Castle season endings are always serious (it's easy to overlook it in Season 4 as we were all so busy wondering what position Castle and Beckett would try out first that we forgot the actual ending was Senator Evil's guy getting ready to kill Beckett). It's a no-brainer that Castle will live. But is he missing, or is there a decoy body all crispy in the car? If it's the latter, will people pick up on that right away or will there be a delay? Is 3XK behind all this, or someone else/someone new? My main worry is that this might be a setback/reset to the C/B relationship.

One other thing to note is that for every season, there's always been a time gap - either between seasons, or in the first episode, to synchronize the spring ending with the autumn opening Potentially, this could mean that Season 7 opens up with Castle missing (or presumed dead) for three months. I wonder if there'll be a 6th Nikki Heat book coming out, or if there won't be, because he didn't finish it because he went missing. (Just picked up Deadly Heat yesterday.) Actors' contracts are typically for 7 years. So it'll really depend on that whether we have a season 8. I'm fine with 7 being the last one; don't want the show to wear out its welcome. Calling it now: If 7 is the final season, the series finale will end with Beckett finding out she's expecting triplets (time travel dude said 3 kids) and Castle will have that same "oh poo poo" look he did when it looked like they might be abducted by aliens.

Anyone who enjoys this show needs to get on board with Taxi Brooklyn. Its essentially the French version of Castle (which is appropriate, given how much the French love Castle) and is a great throwback to the first season's more comedic tone.

A teaser promo for S7 was just released. First half a rehash of the last moments of S6, but in the second half we learn that Castle's not in the car. This scuppers my theory that a body was going to be planted in the car to make everyone think he's dead. This isn't making the wait til 9/29 much easier. I still think the S7 thread should be called "Castle Season 7: Stop, Drop, and Roll"
