I'm not entirely sure what the deal here is. Is the price 7500, 1500 of which does not go toward paying off the car? Or is she asking 9 grand? For a 110,000 mile Focus. http://mohave.craigslist.org/cto/1955535099.html

Looks like she owes $7500 on it and has $1500 of "equity." If you give her $7500, she's just give you the car without making you pay the "equity," but you can also pay for that "equity" and she'll let you take over payments instead. It's an amazing deal. Truly.

Parked on grass, next to a muscle car? She's That Guy. The one who brings the Mundane car you wouldn't even look at in a parking lot to a car show. Like the guy locally who brings his NA Miata (in nice shape, admittedly) with nothing more than an intake to every local car show.

I am not sure if even an lt4 convertible firebird would fetch those prices. I think they built 2 of them. I have been looking at these, not the lt4, but regular ones and the owners think they are gold, but they never sell. They suffer from impossible to maintain 1990s gm product.

Yeah I wouldn't even worry about replacing the timing chains or serpentine belt or changing the oil because it will have crapped its internals out long before any of those are necessary But good GOD if you find a W8 nearby, test drive it. Oh man, is it awesome. The shifter is perfection, the car is quite well finished, the sound is insane.

I found a pretty awesome mini-RV on craigslist, and had a long conversation with the seller on the phone. He knows his stuff, had compression numbers on hand, and I felt like he was being honest with me. Only problem is that it's a plane-ride away near Orange County, CA and I won't be free for about 3 weeks. My buddy and I are set on flying out with roundtrip tickets, then either driving it up the coast and back, or just flying home. Only problem is the seller is hesitant about holding it that long. I suggested a deposit, and he said he's do it for $500, but is there any way for me to do that without A) getting scammed over or B) looking like a scammer (escrow scams)?

He didn't go for it, and I pretty much passed.
