Warm winters causes death by leaves to anything that uses rails and death by drowning of idiots who think that they can use the "frozen" Mälaren as a shortcut everywhere.

I got a friend who works for Volvo. His department used to have "fancy fridays" when they dressed up in suits for work and then went out for drinks afterwards. Now they have a new american boss who has instituted "hawaiian fridays" where people are expected to dress in aloha shirts. So now my friend goes to work on fridays wearing a three-piece suit, tie and a ghastly floral-pattern shirt. It's awesome/terrible.

The best part about working in sweden is that you can just dismiss your boss entirely if he wants you to do anything that isn't directly work related and there's no risk of being fired like in America

Use salt on sidewalks you cowards. I was bleeding from both palms this morning after slipping on the ice and then slamming my hands into the gravel which does jack all for pedestrians.

The total cost is basically a rounding error in the municipal budget. It is ludicrously cost-effective from a societal perspective.

Like you say it’s different budgets so nobody pays attention. Also aren’t there other reasons behind salting or putting gravel on surfaces? I think someone told me that once the snow and ice is there gravel works better then salt?

Looks like Støjberg is good with e-mail like Abuella, proving she outright lied not only to parliament, but to the Ombudsman himself. He has now reviewed the e-mail acquired by Information and it undermines her entire explanation. She claimed it had nothing to do with her unconstitutional and ECHR-violating instructions to separate asylum seekers without appeal, and therefore wasn't subject to the Ombudsman's request for relevant documents, when in fact it was solely about that and states clearly that there were to be no exceptions to the instructions. Rule of law is dead if this doesn't result in impeachment.

It is kinda interesting how bad the ice situation is in Stockholm. Especially in comparison to larger cities with more snow. Also, the mass transit is kinda interesting in that it took me more than one hour to go a rather short distance. Which was kinda ridiculous considering it was one of the posher areas of Stockholm. Obviously housing prices have little to do with actual transport here. Which I find funny considering I have about one hour to central Copenhagen from home.
